\n\tNeurosis<\/a> will embark on a handful of dates this fall in support of their celebrated comeback album, An Undying Love for a Burning World<\/a>. In addition to the band\u2019s previously announced gigs in San Francisco, the group added dates in Brooklyn, Chicago, Portland, Oregon, Seattle, Boston, and L.A. The Boston gig is part of Converge\u2019s Saddest Day festival and will see the band playing alongside Converge, Cave In, and others.<\/p>\n

\n\tTickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, though San Francisco\u2019s gigs are already sold out. Full details are on the band\u2019s website<\/a>, which also lists the support acts at each gig. The concerts will variously feature Uniform, Primitive Man, Great Falls, and others opening for the group.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe gigs follow the band\u2019s performance at the Fire in the Mountains festival this past July; the group\u2019s Steve Von Till is a member of the Firekeeper Alliance, which has close ties with the festival, and strives to decrease the suicide rate among indigenous youths<\/a> through teaching them about heavy metal. The concert marked the first gig they played with Sumac vocalist-guitarist Aaron Turner, who previously played in Isis, as a member of the band. In addition to several songs from An Undying Love for a Burning World<\/a>, Neurosis performed selections from Times of Grace, A Sun That Never Sets, and Enemy of the Sun at that concert. They played a similar set in Asheville, North Carolina earlier this month.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile at Fire in the Mountains, filmmaker Bobby Cochran shot a short film that features members of the Blackfeet Nation and the songs \u201cWe Are Torn Wide Open\u201d and \u201cMirror Deep,\u201d off the new album.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSet against two emotionally powerful tracks from Neurosis\u2019 incredible new record, the film tells the story of four young people from Browning [Montana] (Haley Running Crane, Paul Medicine Horse, Reb Pollock, and Dylan Fast Buffalo Horse) confronted by a malevolent spirit (expertly played by the wildly creative Sim Schildt),\u201d the video\u2019s description says. \u201cRather than facing this darkness alone, these protagonists ultimately confront the entity and find strength through connection and a sense of belonging, demonstrating Firekeeper Alliance\u2019s core belief that our greatest protection against suicide can be one another.\u201d<\/p>\n
