Camera quality<\/p>\n

The XPAD 30 Pro is equipped with two 8MP cameras, one on each side. Both use the same GalaxyCore sensor (as best as we can tell), only the one on the display side has a fixed-focus lens, while the rear camera does feature AF and is ever so slightly narrower in its field of view.<\/p>\n

A notable feature is the LED flash next to the front-facing camera – it just might come in handy for low-light video calls.<\/p>\n

The rear camera photos are pretty alright. Dynamic range is actually quite good for the unassuming hardware, and colors are very likable – no weird white balance issues, great saturation. The images are not exactly packed with detail, but they’re reasonably sharp and detailed for their 8MP resolution. That is, in bright outdoor scenarios – dimmer indoor scenes do get noticeably softer. Nothing out of the ordinary, really.<\/p>\n

You probably wouldn’t want to be using the 2x zoom level though, or you should at least not expect to see much in terms of pixel-level detail.<\/p>\n

Front camera<\/p>\n

Selfies aren’t too bad either. If you can find yourself balanced lighting, you’ll get pretty decent results, though both harsh bright light and dimmer conditions will result in a drop in quality. Saturation also tends to drop as light levels drop, but you can nudge it up and get very pleasing skin tones.<\/p>\n

Video quality<\/p>\n

Video recording maxes out at 2K@30fps (otherwise known as 1440p) on both cameras, but you can go for a more conventional 1080p30 as well. Neither quality setting offers stabilization, though. The videos are encoded using h.264, and there’s no option for h.265 (HEVC).<\/p>\n

The 2K video quality from the rear camera is usable. Dynamic range is limited, but colors are pretty good, and detail is adequate. You’ll want to find a way to stabilize the tablet, though, because handholding it will result in visible and quite annoying shake. Front camera videos will also get the job done – it won’t be your most flattering complexion, but it’s not too bad either. Ideally, you’ll have the tablet in its keyboard case and placed on a desk for this, in which case you won’t have to worry about camera shake.<\/p>\n

Camera quality verdict<\/p>\n

There’s not much to like about the XPAD 30 Pro’s cameras, but it’s a tablet, and an affordable one at that, so camera excellence isn’t exactly part of the job description. It will do the job for the occasional snap with the rear camera and will serve you decently well for video calls on the display side. There’s not much more to ask of it.<\/p>\n

Our verdict<\/p>\n

The Infinix XPAD 30 Pro is not the sort of tablet that is going to impress anyone with benchmark numbers or flashy hardware. Its Helio G200 Ultimate chipset is decidedly entry-level by current standards; the display is exhibits some contrast shift and sluggish pixel response times; charging is painfully slow; and the stereo speakers are merely average. <\/p>\n

And yet, taken as a complete package, the XPAD 30 Pro is a device that’s surprisingly easy to like. Doubly so once we consider its sub-USD$200 starting price. That’s pretty hard to beat, honestly.<\/p>\n

For one, the hardware itself is quite well put together. The mostly aluminum construction feels reassuringly solid, while the pretty slim 6.6mm profile keeps the tablet comfortable to handle. The 11-inch display is also quite sharp thanks to its 2560 x 1600-pixel resolution, and while 90Hz is nothing extraordinary these days, it still makes general navigation feel smoother than a basic 60Hz panel.<\/p>\n

Battery endurance is another pleasant surprise. The 8,200mAh battery sounds rather modest for an 11-inch tablet, yet the XPAD 30 Pro manages to extract respectable endurance from it. Infinix has included useful extras such as bypass charging.<\/p>\n

Then there is connectivity, where the XPAD 30 Pro punches above what we would normally expect from an inexpensive tablet. You get 4G LTE with an actual SIM slot, dedicated microSD expansion and a GPS receiver. None of these is particularly exotic individually, but having all three together makes the tablet substantially more versatile than many Wi-Fi-only alternatives.<\/p>\n

The tablet’s accessories add further value. Stylus support with palm rejection works well, and the X Pencil itself is quite capable. The keyboard folio is much less sophisticated, with no trackpad, no POGO-pin connection and its own battery and Bluetooth pairing, but it is still a useful addition if you manage to get a bundle that includes it.<\/p>\n

\"Infinix<\/p>\n

The real highlight, however, is XOS 16. Infinix has put a surprising amount of effort into making the XPAD 30 Pro useful for studying and light productivity. Split-screen and floating-window multitasking work well, the Notes and eBook applications are genuinely useful, and there is an unusually broad selection of cross-device and AI-assisted features. Things such as transcription, translation, document recognition and Snap for Answer are exactly the sort of tools that could actually prove valuable to the students Infinix is targeting.<\/p>\n

All things considered, we think the XPAD 30 Pro is a compelling package overall that’s worth recommending if you are shopping in this price segment.<\/p>\n
