\n\tElon Musk<\/a> is ranting on X in response to the upcoming documentary, Musk<\/a>. \u201cHe has ZERO integrity,\u201d he said. \u201cHorrible human.\u201d As it turns out, he\u2019s not talking about the subject of the film (himself), but rather its creator, Alex Gibney<\/a>. <\/p>\n \n\tThe four-hour documentary<\/a> premiered at the Venice Film Festival on Tuesday, and while it\u2019s unclear whether Musk has actually watched it, he walked away with some strong feelings towards its director. \u201cDogshit is worth more respect than Gibney,\u201d Musk wrote on X, later adding, \u201cGibney has zero integrity. Zero. Fortunately, his movies are boring af.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tMusk\u2019s bigger gripe seems to be with the sources Gibney assembled to help paint a portrait of Musk in the documentary. The film features appearances from Justine Musk, his first wife; Ashley St. Clair, who has a child with Musk; Tesla co-founder Martin Eberhard; his father, Errol Musk; journalists Kara Swisher and Zo\u00eb Schiffer; and more. \u201cGibney just assembled a hit list of people who either have an axe to grind or don\u2019t even know me (but still have an axe to grind),\u201d Musk said.<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tMusk arrives in theaters in the U.S. on Oct. 16 and HBO will air the documentary later this year. Gibney spent years chipping away at the film. In 2023, he told Rolling Stone,<\/a> \u201cThere was a background thing for me going, \u2018Should I do it?\u2019 \u2018Should I not do it?\u2019 But more intensely for some months now. And that kind of thing is more exploratory \u2014 talking to people, that sort of stuff. I make a lot of films, and each one of them takes quite a bit of time. I\u2019m noodling on Musk<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAt the time, Gibney said it was \u201ctoo early to tell what the film is going to be.\u201d But as Musk\u2019s entanglement with the restructuring of Twitter in X evolved alongside his escapades with Donald Trump\u2019s White House, the film began to shape itself.
