{"id":620721,"date":"2026-09-10T20:44:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T20:44:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/620721\/"},"modified":"2026-09-10T20:44:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T20:44:10","slug":"long-running-us-nbc-morning-show-today-to-broadcast-from-kenmare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/620721\/","title":{"rendered":"Long-running US NBC morning show Today to broadcast from Kenmare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>US STATION NBC will broadcast its flagship weekday show from Kenmare, Co Kerry next month.<\/p>\n<p>Luxury hotel Sheen Falls Lodge has announced that it will host the Today programme and its leading anchors and hosts, including Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin and Carson Daly.<\/p>\n<p>The five-star venue will broadcast all four hours of the show live on Friday 16 October, with the show sponsored by Tourism Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>Having debuted in 1952, the Today show is one of the longest-running American series in television history.<\/p>\n<p>Shene Falls Lodge described it as a \u201clandmark broadcast\u201d, as it will mark the first time Today will broadcast from Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>Promoting this, the hotel said it will be \u201cbringing one of America\u2019s most recognised morning television programmes to the<br \/>country and millions of viewers a glimpse into the island of Ireland\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1789073050_629_.jpeg\"  alt=\"Sheen Falls Lodge Summer Exterier\" class=\"alignnone inline-image\" \/><br \/>\n            Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare                    Barry Murphy Photography<\/p>\n<p>    Barry Murphy Photography\n<\/p>\n<p>The show broadcasts at 7am in the US, meaning it will air at 11am local time.<\/p>\n<p>According to promotional material, Today will give American viewers the full whack of an Irish holiday, \u201csharing stories from its people and Ireland\u2019s rich heritage, culture and authentic local experiences\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Alison Metcalfe, who is head of North America for Tourism Ireland, said that the organisation \u201chopes it inspires viewers to come and experience\u201d Ireland for themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Loughnane, general manager of Sheen Falls Lodge, said it will make for a \u201ctruly historic occasion\u201d and that it\u2019s an \u201cincredible honour\u201d to be able to host the morning show and its team at the 300-acre resort.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, co-host Guthrie had taken a break from the show for an extended period after her mother Nancy went missing following a suspected abduction.<\/p>\n<p>Investigations continue into Nancy\u2019s whereabouts, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thejournal.ie\/nancy-guthrie-note-7079105-Jun2026\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">although a ransom note was sent to US newsrooms<\/a> claiming the 84-year-old had died in February shortly after she was taken from her home in Tucson, Arizona.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"US STATION NBC will broadcast its flagship weekday show from Kenmare, Co Kerry next month.
