The boss of Ryanair has said the airline will be \u201cdisputing<\/a>\u201d the claim that any part of a passenger\u2019s body was sucked out of a window midflight.<\/p>\n

Ljubisa Karovic<\/a>, 61, suffered neck and shoulder injuries after the window broke <\/a>during the flight from the Greek city of Thessaloniki<\/a> to Memmingen near Munich, Germany<\/a>, on July 10.<\/p>\n

The National Transportation Safety Board<\/a> (NTSB) in the US is investigating the incident during the flight.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Michael O\u2019Leary said the passenger was \u201ccertainly sucked towards the window, but he didn\u2019t get out the window\u201d. <\/p>\n

While speaking to reporters after the Ryanair annual general meeting in Dublin, he was asked if the passenger was partially out of the window, he said: \u201cHe wasn\u2019t partially out the window.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, no, no. Part of his face didn\u2019t get out the window.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t think any part of his body got out the window, but he was certainly sucked in very dramatic circumstances towards the window.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr O\u2019Leary said he was \u201cbelted into the seat\u201d and added: \u201cWe will be certainly at the end of the process disputing that he or any part of his anatomy will bend out the window.\u201d<\/p>\n

The airline chief acknowledged the man suffered injuries and added: \u201cWe\u2019re not trying to downplay it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr O\u2019Leary told reporters: \u201cLook, that incident is being investigated by the NTSB, and we have to await the outcome of the NTSB report.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked if Ryanair had done any checks or fixes as a result of the incident, he said: \u201cThere\u2019s nothing we can do at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are a participant in the investigation with Boeing, with the NTSB, with GE on the engine side.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of the focus is what happened to the engine.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy was it not self-contained within the cowl of the engine?\u201d<\/p>\n

\"MichaelMichael O\u2019Leary spoke to reporters after the Ryanair annual general meeting in Dublin on Thursday (PA)<\/p>\n

Mr O\u2019Leary said they were in touch with the passenger\u2019s lawyer and acknowledged he was entitled to \u201csome compensation\u201d but said he did not believe there was any basis for \u201cany class action\u201d or a payout of \u201cmillions and millions\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mr Karovic, a Serbian businessman, previously told The Guardian he was \u201cstill strapped in\u201d with his seatbelt.<\/p>\n

Svetlana, Mr Karovic\u2019s wife, told the newspaper they were \u201ceternally grateful\u201d to one passenger who she believes is Albanian for his part in the rescue.<\/p>\n
