A Status Orange rain warning is in effect for three counties overnight with flooding possible and “damage to homes and businesses likely”.<\/p>\n
The warning, for Donegal, Galway and Mayo, came into effect at 1am and will remain in place until 7am.<\/p>\n
Very heavy and persistent rain with thunderstorms and lightning damage are possible.<\/p>\n
Flooding, disruption and delays to public transport as well as very difficult travelling conditions are also possible.<\/p>\n
A Status Yellow rain warning came into effect for Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo from 9pm yesterday and will last until 9am this morning.<\/p>\n
Localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions and lightning damage are some of the possible impacts of the warning, Met \u00c9ireann has warned.<\/p>\n
At 1am, this yellow alert transitioned into an orange warning for Donegal, Galway and Mayo.<\/p>\n
A separate rain warning will come into effect for Cork and Kerry later this morning.<\/p>\n
The Status Yellow alert will come into effect at 9am and remain in place until 9pm tomorrow night.<\/p>\n
Met \u00c9ireann said there will be a spell of persistent rain, turning heavy at times.<\/p>\n
