Aoibh\u00edn Garrihy and John Burke are feeling ‘honoured’ as Armada Hotel and House has clinched the top spot in a list of Ireland’s best hotels.<\/p>\n

Armada House is the latest property under John’s belt. It’s a venue that’s been beautifully refurbished by renowned interior designer Suzie McAdam.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the couple gushed: ‘Where to start on what this means for our special corner of the world, and of course our incredible team.’<\/p>\n

‘Start with the “thank yous”. Incredibly grateful for the team here who made this happen,’ they continued.<\/p>\n

The statement continued: ‘Honoured to be joining such an incredible group in the Hall of Fame. Going to take a day or two to process this, [and] to decide how to mark such a special occasion.’<\/p>\n

Armada Hotel and House clinched the top spot in the Irish Independent’s list of 100 Best Hotels 2026<\/a>, meaning it will be retired from future lists and moved to the publication’s Hotel Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

The publication says of the venue: ‘It can be pricey, and it\u2019s not perfect, but it is the perfect encapsulation of what I love about hotels \u2014 a culture as much as a place to stay; an independent, creative business where your money takes the stress out of your shoulders while supporting its community.<\/p>\n

‘Born of a family pub, the booster rockets have fallen away, and there\u2019s much more to come.’<\/p>\n

Armada House<\/a> in Co Clare is the first hotel design to be created by the former Home of the Year judge<\/a>, and Suzie has done the 19th-century property justice.<\/p>\n

The house dates back to 1807 as a Gentleman’s Residence, and was acquired by Armada in July 2022. It underwent an ambitious three-year redesign, which has breathed life into the property as it enters its new era.<\/p>\n

With an investment of \u20ac2.5m, Armada House is designed as a sanctuary ‘where time slows’. It’s situated just 70 metres from the hustle and bustle of the Armada Hotel, however.<\/p>\n

Armada House, which has 13 rooms, may also be booked in its entirety for special gatherings or occasions- think hen do or 50th birthday bash!<\/p>\n

There are plenty of dining and social options at Armada House. Mabel’s is home to the venue’s signature breakfast, and, tying into the property’s history, is named after the last lady of the house to reside there.<\/p>\n

The Piano Room boasts a Fred Astaire-owned piano as its centrepiece. Breathtaking!<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, the Parlour is a refined room to relax by the fire with a glass of vino. The emphasis is placed on a comfortable atmosphere.<\/p>\n

And the Stables is a fabulous event space, available only when Armada House is booked exclusively.
