The wording comes straight from Apple\u2019s own \u201cAvailable for\u201d line on the current iOS 26.6.2 and iPadOS 26.6.2 entry, dated September 8, 2026, at support.apple.com\/en-us\/100100. Apple has not explained why iPad needs more lines than iPhone; the count is simply what the current entry contains.<\/p>\n

Apple\u2019s iOS 27 compatibility page adds one further qualifying line for iPhone SE, second generation and later, bringing the total to two. Five lines for iPad against two for iPhone, on the same document, for the same release. iOS 27<\/a> itself, arriving Monday, September 14, carries the same iPhone 11 and iPhone SE floor forward.
