Lisa knows she always has the support of her BLACKPINK “sisters”.<\/p>\n
The As If It’s Your Last hitmaker is joined in the K-pop group by Jennie, Jisoo and Ros\u00e9, and amid their various solo endeavours, there is no rivalry because they just want to see one another do well.<\/p>\n
Lisa told E! News at the premiere of her documentary Always LaLisa at the Toronto International Film Festival: “They’re like my sisters. They’re like my family. And of course, even though we are doing all solo stuff, we still text each other.<\/p>\n
“And even though Always LaLisa is gonna be out soon, they texted me, and they’re like, ‘Oh, can’t wait to watch it!'”<\/p>\n
Lisa teased that the documentary will let fans see her work in ways they’ve never seen before.<\/p>\n
Asked what fans can expect from Always LaLisa, she said: “They [get] to see all the behind the scenes, like how I work. I hope they enjoy it.”<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old singer was born Pranpriya Manobal but recently revealed she legally changed her first name to Lalisa – which translates to “one who is praised” in her native Thai – when she was 13 at the suggestion of a fortune teller, and she is still happy with her decision.<\/p>\n
She said: “It’s just me from the start. I feel like I’m always Lalisa from the start.”<\/p>\n
The White Lotus actress visited the fortune teller after auditioning to join the talent agency and record label YG Entertainment.<\/p>\n
She told America’s Vanity Fair magazine in June: “I don’t know about the culture here, but in Thailand, it’s fun to go see a fortune teller.”<\/p>\n
After the woman suggested the name change, Lisa recalled she said: “You know what? I’ll do anything.”<\/p>\n
In 2025, Lisa admitted she feels proud of what she’s managed to achieve with BLACKPINK.<\/p>\n
She told ELLE: “When I’m onstage [with BLACKPINK], I share my energy with my members. If she gives 100, I’ll give 120. We can feel each other. And I love that energy.”<\/p>\n
Lisa has focused on her solo material in recent times, but she also remains committed to the girl group.<\/p>\n
She explained: “Of course we’re continuing, for sure.<\/p>\n
“We’re so proud of BLACKPINK, and I love BLACKPINK. It is not just because of our fans, it’s for ourselves. There was no doubt. This is our life.”<\/p>\n
Lisa’s experience as a solo artist has helped her to become more decisive in recent years, too.<\/p>\n
She shared: “I think what I’ve learned from last time is me, myself, saying what I like and what I don’t like.<\/p>\n
“I think that’s the most important. Because if I say, ‘Ah, it’s okay,’ [people] don’t know – like, am I really okay with it?
