Wilco<\/a>\u2018s\u00a0Jeff Tweedy<\/a> has covered Twisted Teens\u2019 \u2018Wild Connection\u2019 \u2013 give it a listen below.<\/p>\n

Tweedy occasionally uses his Substack<\/a> to share covers of his current favourite songs. Earlier this year, he\u00a0shared an emotive cover of Cameron Winter\u2019s \u2018Love Takes Miles\u2019 for Valentine\u2019s Day<\/a>, dedicated to his wife Susan.<\/p>\n

Now, he\u2019s shared his take on Twisted Teens\u2019 \u2018Wild Connection\u2019 from their album \u2018Blame The Clown\u2019, which was released earlier this year.\u00a0Writing on Substack, Tweedy said: \u201cI\u2019m back from Europe and sharing a song by Twisted Teens. I recommended a different record of theirs recently. I like a lot of their songs and I like Caspian\u2019s voice. I had trouble not trying to sing like him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat happens with a lot of the voices of singers I like,\u201d he continued. \u201cWhen I play their songs, I\u2019m trying really hard not to do an imitation. But one of the reasons I do so many cover songs is that I think it\u2019s good to hear something you like and then see what it feels like to try it on, almost like clothes. Sometimes it feels right, sometimes it feels like I\u2019m trying to find a way into sounding like myself.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn this one, I think I still sound like myself. I actually kind of feel like I maybe sound like a younger version of myself,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

As for Wilco, the band recently announced three shows in Marrakech for March next year<\/a>, which will be their first ever gigs in Africa.<\/p>\n

Their last studio album was 2023\u2019s \u2018Cousin<\/a>\u2019, and they then followed it up with the \u2018Hot Sun Cool Shroud\u2019 EP the following year.<\/p>\n

Last year, Tweedy announced a new\u00a0triple solo album, \u2018Twilight Override\u2019<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 his fifth record as a solo artist and containing 30 tracks \u2013 and he then went on to join\u00a0Hayley Williams<\/a>,\u00a0Waxahatchee<\/a>,\u00a0Weyes Blood<\/a>,\u00a0Rufus Wainwright<\/a>,\u00a0Maren Morris<\/a>\u00a0and more as special guests when\u00a0Bleachers performed at Newport Folk Festival 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

More recently, he made a crossword puzzle for the\u00a0New York Times<\/a>\u00a0featuring nods to\u00a0David Bowie<\/a>,\u00a0Sex Pistols<\/a> and more, and joined Dry Cleaning\u2019s set at Green Man festival as a surprise guest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2022, the frontman\u00a0spoke to\u00a0NME\u00a0for our Soundtrack Of My Life series<\/a>, and revealed that Wilco\u2019s song \u2018Shake It Off\u2019 from \u2018Sky Blue Sky\u2019 is one song he can\u2019t listen to anymore.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just one of those songs that I just feel like I could do so much better now,\u201d he said. \u201cI just can\u2019t listen to it.
