{"id":623741,"date":"2026-09-13T20:52:11","date_gmt":"2026-09-13T20:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/623741\/"},"modified":"2026-09-13T20:52:11","modified_gmt":"2026-09-13T20:52:11","slug":"lowry-fans-crack-up-at-ridiculously-irish-scene-at-doonbeg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/623741\/","title":{"rendered":"Lowry fans crack up at ridiculously Irish scene at Doonbeg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shane Lowry may have been focused on his golf, but it was the scenes happening behind him that really caught people\u2019s attention on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A snap showing the Irish golfer taking a putt has been getting plenty of laughs online thanks to the brilliantly chaotic backdrop \u2013 featuring cows, a Garda and local farmers perched on a front loader with cans of cider.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scene was shared by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RorysStoriesOfficial\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Rory\u2019s Stories<\/a> on Facebook alongside the caption: \u2018I think this is the most Irish thing I\u2019ve ever seen\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And it\u2019s hard to argue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/extra.ie\/2026\/09\/13\/sport\/shane-lowry-comment\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lowry <\/a>is lining up his putt, while a couple of cows appear to be casually taking in the action in the background.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nearby, a Garda can be seen having a chat with spectators, while local farmers have seemingly found the perfect vantage point  \u2013 sitting up on a front loader and enjoying a few cans as they watch the golf.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the cows weren\u2019t simply there for the atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One commenter joked that they had spotted the cows \u2018heading home to be milked\u2019, adding: \u2018What a relaxed atmosphere, no heavy-handed security visible \u2026. Only in Ireland.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another declared: \u2018This is the best photo EVER!!! All it\u2019s short of is Mrs. Doyle with the teapot, cups, milk and sugar on a tray!!!!\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Lowry-putt.jpg\" alt=\"Pic: Rory's Stories\/Facebook\" class=\"wp-image-1810599\"  \/>Pic: Rory\u2019s Stories\/Facebook <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And someone else suggested the unusual spectators may have left Trump\u2019s security officers wondering what exactly they were supposed to do with themselves.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018I\u2019d say security didn\u2019t know what to do with themselves today people all over the place a wonderful sight the only thing missing was a few lads flaking a sliotar,\u2019 they wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then there was the small matter of Lowry\u2019s putt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018Lowry got the birdy and they were cheering and swigging the cans.
