\n\tChris Rock<\/a> revealed on Sunday that filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson<\/a> provided feedback on his latest directorial project, Misty Green.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe comedian mentioned during the film\u2019s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival<\/a> on Saturday that Anderson watched the movie, which Rock wrote and directed, before telling The Hollywood Reporter that he watched Misty Green as a friend and critic.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBoth,\u201d Rock said when asked if Anderson watched as \u201ca bud\u201d or to give notes. \u201cBut it\u2019s always for notes. It\u2019s like, what do I have you \u2014 what\u2019s the use of having a friend like you who can\u2019t help me?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tRock would say not what Anderson changed or where in the film audiences may see his changes but did share that the Oscar-winning director provided \u201ca tweak here or there.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tDistributed by A24, Misty Green follows an award-winning actress (Rosalind Eleazar) whose career has faded. Determined to make peace with her past, Misty attempts a career comeback after reconnecting with her former talent agent (Topher Grace). In addition to Eleazar and Grace, the comedy-drama also stars Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick and Rock in a small role.<\/p>\n

\n\tRock told THR he was inspired to write the film after watching a former A-list actress perform in a \u201cloop group<\/a>,\u201d an ensemble of voice actors who provide sound effects or background conversations for film and TV.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201c\u200aI was editing a movie, or something, and I was doing a loop group,\u201d Rock explained at The Hollywood Reporter\u2019s Studio at 1 Hotel during TIFF<\/a>, presented by sponsor Canada Goose. \u201c\u200aYou\u2019re almost done with the movie, right? And you need extra sound effects, [so] you ask for a loop group. In the loop group was a formerly famous actress. I was like, \u2018Wow, what is she doing here?\u2019 Because you don\u2019t really get paid for loop group.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tRock said that he\u2019s \u201cnever\u201d going to share who the actress was, but \u201csomething about watching her sparked the initial [idea].\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLike, \u2018oh, this is a whole movie here,\u2019\u201d Rock added. \u201cWhat happened in her life that she\u2019s here at the loop?\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
