\n\tEXCLUSIVE: The Walsh Sisters<\/a> are coming back. Irish pubcaster RT\u00c9 has greenlit a Season 2, which the BBC<\/a> will once again show in the UK. The new series, based on Marian Keyes<\/a>\u2019 novels, will stream on Stan in Australia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tPeter Coonan (Bad Sisters) joins the Season 2 cast, as do Aisl\u00edn McGuckin (Normal People), Art Campion (Blue Lights) and Fay Ripley (Cold Feet).<\/p>\n

\n\tAs well as the Season 2 news, Deadline has the first pic from the new season, showing Caroline Menton (Oddity), Danielle Galligan (House of Guinness), M\u00e1ir\u00e9ad Tyers (Extraordinary), Stefanie Preissner (How to Adult) and Louisa Harland (Derry Girls) reprising their roles as the five sisters. As well as starring, Preissner adapts the Keyes\u2019 books for TV. Aidan Quinn (Legends of the Fall) and Carrie Crowley (Hope Street) also return as the sisters\u2019 parents.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe comedy-drama will revisit the lives and travails of the eponymous sisters. Season 1<\/a> was well received, capturing the spirit of Keyes\u2019 book series about the chaotic, dysfunctional, but lovable Dublin family, and meshing comedic moments with serious drama.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith cameras rolling, we can share what fans of the show can expect from Season 2.<\/p>\n

\n\tRachel steps outside the family bubble to navigate recovery on her own terms. Claire defies the traditional expectations placed on her as a mother, while Maggie\u2019s quest to create the perfect family takes an unexpected turn. Helen becomes overprotective of her sisters while struggling with her own emotional wellbeing. Anna, meanwhile, will try some unusual methods to get over heartbreak. All the while, Daddy Walsh remains oblivious to the drama unfolding around him and is focused on landing a part in the local amateur dramatic musical.<\/p>\n

\n\tCuba Pictures, now part of Vice Studios<\/a>, produces alongside Metropolitan Pictures. Cineflix Rights is the distributor and handling global sales.<\/p>\n
