Shiiine On Weekender have announced the first wave of names for their 2027 edition, with Babyshambles<\/a>, Ash<\/a> and Cast<\/a> leading the way.<\/p>\n

The three-day event will be returning Butlin\u2019s Skegness for the third time next year, and set to run between March 19 and 21.<\/p>\n

Set to bring a \u201chuge celebration of indie, alternative, and dance music\u201d, the Friday edition will see a huge headline set from Cast, who are set to perform at the festival for the first time. Joining them on that day will be Black Grape<\/a>, Jim Bob, Reverend & The Makers<\/a>, The Futureheads<\/a>, and The Rifles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For Saturday, Babyshambles will make their debut at Shiiine On Weekender and be joined by fellow indie acts Gene<\/a> and Ned\u2019s Atomic Dustbin on the bill, while Sunday will see Ash perform for another headline set, alongside Starsailor<\/a> and Sleeper<\/a> on the final night.<\/p>\n

Other big names on the line-up so far include Buzzcocks<\/a>, The Selecter, The Sultans of Ping, EMF, Puressence, The Dub Pistols, The Farm, Dubstar, Ozric Tentacles, Banco de Gaia, Senser, The Supernaturals, and China Drum.<\/p>\n

The acoustic stage will host The Bluetones and Chris Helme, and outside of the live music planned, there will also be a Sunday night closing party organised by Tim Burgess<\/a> alongside Star Shaped.<\/p>\n

There is also comedy from Rob Newman and Terry Christian, as well as quizzes, bingo, pool parties, and the return of Rave On \u2013 a dance stage led by The Sabres of Paradise, The Orb.Bez, Steve Davis, James Atkin and Kavus Torabi.<\/p>\n

The headline slot from Babyshambles comes as frontman Pete Doherty<\/a> recently spoke to NME alongside Josh Pugh about their new project The Pete Doherty Show<\/a>, which features guests Sleaford Mods<\/a>\u2018 Jason Williamson, EastEnders icon Natalie Cassidy, Richard Bacon, comedians Ivo Graham and Jamali Maddix, and many more.<\/p>\n

Speaking about some of the interviews he has done on the show so far, Doherty told us: \u201cJason Williamson was brilliant, and there have been things I\u2019ve wanted to ask him for a long time. I thought Natalie Cassidy from EastEnders was great because she was such a massive celebrity. I had it in my head she was going to be a really down-to-earth London girl, and she was.\u201d<\/p>\n

The indie giants reunited for their first shows together in over a decade last year <\/a>\u2013 following the sad death of original guitarist Patrick Walden <\/a>\u2013 playing a closing show of the tour at London\u2019s KOKO back in December.

Babyshambles then announced the release of \u2018Live At KOKO<\/a>\u2018 through Doherty\u2019s label Strap Originals<\/a>, arriving on October 9.<\/p>\n

Speaking to us again at the end of August, the singer was asked about progress on a new Babyshambles album<\/a>. \u201cThere are bits and bobs, as there always tends to be with Babyshambles. You\u2019ve got four creative people and there are some good ideas,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all a bit wide open, which is a good position to be in. There\u2019s no pressure. We\u2019re not contracted to anyone or signed to anyone as a band. We just exist as this autonomous collective in the midst of the music industry. I like it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not like being young and in your only band and you\u2019re desperate to get somewhere with it. I don\u2019t think we could ever recreate what we did before. It\u2019s quite a precious space we\u2019re in at the moment. We\u2019re kind of armed and dangerous, Babyshambles. We\u2019ve got these amazing songs and some amazing characters. We\u2019ll keep it as it is for now.
