The Offaly man cruised to victory by a record 11 shots at the Amgen Irish Open in Doonbeg yesterday<\/a> as he lifted the title for the second time in sensational fashion.<\/p>\n“We’re feeling great. We got back late last night, but it was a lovely journey back … he gave a masterclass yesterday,” Se\u00e1n Lowry told RT\u00c9’s Morning Ireland.<\/p>\n
“He had a few bad Sundays this year so far, but it put the demons to bed and it was brilliant.<\/p>\n
“On links courses, there’s carnage around every corner, there are double bogeys looming everywhere, so you never say never but … thank God it worked out,” he said.<\/p>\n
Se\u00e1n Lowry said the entire family is really proud of Shane.<\/p>\n
“He’s a lovely guy and he came across very well. I thought his speech on 18 was brilliant,” he said.<\/p>\n
“He’s normal, the same as everyone else and he’s a great ambassador. I think he loves what he’s doing as well, which is brilliant,” he added.<\/p>\n
Se\u00e1n said his nephew is in great physical condition, and he thinks that more success is in his future.<\/p>\n
“Yesterday he was just taking that 10 or 15 seconds extra on his putting, so I think there’s bigger and better to come now. He’s in great shape,” he said.<\/p>\n
Se\u00e1n Lowry said he hopes his nephew can carry his winning form with him.<\/p>\n
“That’s what we’re hoping, it’s Ryder Cup year and he’s very keen on the Ryder Cup. He has made no secret of that. His love of Ireland and Offaly and Clara, I think it shines through,” he said.<\/p>\n
Se\u00e1n said he was not sure if Shane would get a chance to visit his home club in Offaly, Esker Hills.<\/p>\n
“He’s in Adare and he’s going to Wentworth.
