\n\tThe 30th edition of Ji.hlava Documentary Film Festival<\/a>, which draws around 1,200 industry professionals, has unveiled the projects selected for its New Visions Forum.<\/p>\n

\n\tTwenty-nine projects from 15 countries will be presented during the Forum, taking place Oct. 28\u201330, offering their teams the opportunity to connect with potential co-production, financing, sales and distribution partners.<\/p>\n

\n\tEight of this year\u2019s selected projects are directed by first-time filmmakers, alongside new works by acclaimed and experienced directors.<\/p>\n

\n\tThese include Lindsey Sitz, a Pulitzer Prize-winning filmmaker, who comes with \u201cSearching for SmarterChild\u201d; Simantini Chakraborty, a close collaborator of Godfrey Reggio and director of \u201cThe Original Badass,\u201d who presents \u201cImpossible to Ignore\u201d; Iranian filmmaker Ali Razi (\u201cAt Night, the Red Sky\u201d), who pitches \u201cArchiveless Memories, for an Imaginary Museum\u201d; and Polish director Agnieszka Zwiefka (\u201cSilent Trees,\u201d \u201cVika!), delivering \u201cWords We Never Say.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe selection also features new projects by two alumni of the festival\u2019s Emerging Producers program: Charlotte Heilstone from the U.K. and Matej Sotn\u00edk from Slovakia.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Forum will present projects from Europe, the U.S., and East and Southeast Asia, complemented this year by six upcoming projects from Montenegro, the Country in Focus of Ji.hlava\u2019s industry program this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tAcross the selection, several recurring themes emerge: memory, archives, and what has been suppressed or silenced; individuals confronting systems and structures of power; and the intersection of personal experience with larger historical processes.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Forum is complemented by an extensive Matchmaking Accelerator, connecting selected projects with international decision-makers and industry professionals.<\/p>\n
