Coronation Street<\/a> spoilers follow.<\/p>\n

It’s been a dramatic time for the Platts on Coronation Street lately, with Sarah serving time behind bars for the murder of Theo Silverton. And that’s not the only incident, with Bethany having a secret of her own.<\/p>\n

During her stint in prison, Sarah decided to separate from her boyfriend, Kit Green, in a bid to protect his career. In a shock twist, however, Kit slept with Sarah’s daughter Bethany<\/a>. Jodie Ramsey is the only person who knows about this so far.<\/p>\n

Kit and Bethany both have a guilty conscience over the matter, and this will come to the fore in Tuesday’s (15 September) episode of the ITV soap<\/a> as Bethany is overcome with shame.<\/p>\n

The scene in question, which can be viewed below, sees Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain discuss Kit calling in sick from work, though they are unaware that he has been diagnosed with breast cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bethany arrives at the factory, and criticises Carla’s decision to hand Sarah’s job over to somebody else. Carla explains that she needed somebody to fill the gap, though Bethany urges her to remember that “loyalty” is a valuable trait.<\/p>\n

“Just because somebody is not around doesn’t mean that we forget about them,” she adds. “We don’t just step into their shoes, pretend they don’t exist and just take their life. You don’t replace them. It’s betrayal, and it’s wrong.”<\/p>\n

As she leaves the room after uttering her final words, Bethany appears glum as her own secret weighs on her. Lisa quips that Kit “isn’t the only one with a bee in his bonnet”, but will anybody other than Jodie discover the pair’s secret?<\/p>\n

While Bethany is regretting her one-night stand with Kit, the beloved character is also beginning to display her romantic connection with Ryan Connor – something that actor Lucy Fallon is very pleased to see<\/a>. <\/p>\n

“They’ve been with each other quite briefly, probably about eight years ago,” she recalled. “They had a bit of a thing for a little while. Ryan is a good choice. I think the pair of them work really well.<\/p>\n

“I love working with Ryan [Prescott, who plays Ryan] as well, so it’s a good one for me.”<\/p>\n

However, Lucy did admit that her character may partly be pursuing this romance to forget about her regrettable fling with Kit.<\/p>\n

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
