Trust was in short supply on The Traitors Ireland on Monday night, as conflicting stories, old clues and shifting suspicions led to one of the most dramatic Round Tables yet.<\/p>\n

Here are five key moments from episode eight.<\/p>\n

\"The
\nSiobh\u00e1n McSweeney has another deadly mission for the contestants on Monday’s episode<\/p>\n

Se\u00e1n C leaves a warning behind<\/p>\n

The players learned at breakfast that Se\u00e1n C had been murdered, but he had left Ian with one final suspicion before his departure.<\/p>\n

“It’s Carla. Go get her,” he told him.<\/p>\n

Ian was already questioning Carla after Aoife wrote her name at the Round Table before appearing to tap her slate and lock eyes with him.<\/p>\n

\nSean C was murdered before he could bring Carla to the Round Table<\/p>\n

As Carla came into the new day with “fire in her belly”, Ian felt she was beginning to “scramble”.<\/p>\n

Donal also became suspicious after believing he had heard different versions of Carla\u2019s thinking from Kayleigh and Carla herself.<\/p>\n

For newly recruited Traitor Pauric O, the growing attention on his partner was becoming a problem.<\/p>\n

“Whatever heat she\u2019s brought on herself, that\u2019s out of my control,” he said.<\/p>\n

“But I will try my best to take the heat off her.”<\/p>\n

Pete gets the shield<\/p>\n

The players were blindfolded and taken to a hay shed, where they found themselves handcuffed beneath voodoo dolls bearing their names.<\/p>\n

They had to retrieve keys using magnets, free themselves and stab a doll to collect money, with the final untouched doll earning its player a shield.<\/p>\n

\nThe contestants were all tied up during the mission<\/p>\n

Pete suggested everyone stab their own doll, avoiding the need to turn on somebody else.<\/p>\n

The group ultimately left Pete\u2019s doll untouched, giving him protection from murder.<\/p>\n

But not everyone was convinced by the decision.<\/p>\n

Janet questioned why they were protecting somebody without knowing he was a Faithful, while Kayleigh asked: “Why does he deserve it?”<\/p>\n

Donal and Kayleigh clash<\/p>\n

At the Round Table, the previous day\u2019s shield controversy was quickly overtaken by a row between Donal and Kayleigh.<\/p>\n

Donal said Kayleigh had told him Carla was looking at himself and Anna.<\/p>\n

Kayleigh disputed his version, insisting she had simply told Donal that Carla wanted to speak to them before asking who he believed Aoife might have recruited.<\/p>\n

\nDid Kayleigh lie?<\/p>\n

“You are literally on television lying,” Donal told her.<\/p>\n

Kayleigh insisted she was telling the truth and warned that banishing her would create “another David moment”.<\/p>\n

Pauric stepped into the disagreement, saying he had believed both were Faithfuls but now could not work out which of them was telling the truth.<\/p>\n

Then attention returned to Carla.<\/p>\n

Janet questioned whether Aoife\u2019s final vote had been an attempt to expose an original Traitor, while Ian told the group about Aoife tapping her slate and locking eyes with him.<\/p>\n

Carla survives by the narrowest margin<\/p>\n

The first vote ended in a three-way tie between Carla, Donal and Kayleigh.<\/p>\n

A second vote still failed to settle things, leaving Carla and Donal tied and forcing the group to vote again.<\/p>\n

Ian and Janet continued to vote for Carla, but the balance eventually shifted towards Donal.<\/p>\n

\nDJ votes for Donal<\/p>\n

Pauric also voted for Donal, saving his fellow Traitor.<\/p>\n

An emotional Donal then revealed he had been a Faithful all along.<\/p>\n

“I am and I have always been a Faithful,” he told the group.<\/p>\n

Pauric later admitted the decision had come down to keeping Carla in the game or eliminating someone he believed may never have suspected him.<\/p>\n

“I had to play the game, and I had to get rid of him,” he said.<\/p>\n

Janet is marked for murder<\/p>\n

The night ended with another twist when Pauric received instructions that the Traitors had to murder in plain sight.<\/p>\n

One Faithful had to be marked by holding their hand and saying: “Goodnight, and thanks for the dance.”<\/p>\n

The victim would return to breakfast as a “changeling” before meeting their fate during the following day\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n

\nThe time has come for Janet to leave the castle – but will she unmask the Traitors before she does?<\/p>\n

After secretly consulting Carla, Pauric found his opportunity with Janet.<\/p>\n

She had just told him she was convinced he was a Faithful.<\/p>\n

“I 100% believe you\u2019re a Faithful,” she said.<\/p>\n

Pauric admitted he felt like “such a manipulator” before taking her hand and delivering the required phrase.<\/p>\n

Janet immediately responded: “What? Did you murder me?”<\/p>\n

Whether she had genuinely realised what had happened or was simply joking, Janet had been marked.<\/p>\n
