Ever since 2010, Elena Tonra has led the London indie-rolk trio Daughter; they shared their decade-old outtake “Not Enough<\/a>” earlier this year. Back in 2018, Tonra released a self-titled solo album under the name Ex:Re. She never intended to make a follow-up, but she got to working on a few fragments of songs a few years ago, and now she’s got another Ex:Re record on the way. It’s called Save As \u2014 great title, a menu selection that I used constantly \u2014 and it comes out next month.<\/p>\n

Tonra recorded Save As with her Ex:Re producer Fabian Prynn, and it’s got Josephine Stephenson on cello, Hinako Omori on synth, Ben Reed on bass, and Jethro Fox on electric guitar. Opening track “Radio Station” is a strummy, evocative number about existing in a state of flux. In a press release, Tonra says, “The changing radio station is something I experience a lot \u2014 the push and pull of different feelings, and I end up getting stuck because I can\u2019t make decisions.” Director Angela Ricciardi shot the “Radio Station” video in Paris; check it out below.<\/p>\n
