Cork\u2019s Ger Manley will once again manage the Ireland team for the upcoming camogie-shinty international at SuperValu P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh.<\/p>\n
The venue will host an Ireland v Scotland double-header on Saturday, October 24, with the camogie-shinty game taking place at 4pm, followed by the male equiavalent at 6pm.<\/p>\n
Last year, Manley was in charge as Ireland to an 18-6 win over Scotland at Inverness \u2013 the first such fixture since 2016 \u2013 and the Midleton native has again been entrusted with guiding the team\u2019s fortunes for the first home game since the clash in Newry in 2014.<\/p>\n
There will be a further Cork presence on the line as Manley \u2013 manager for Cork\u2019s All-Ireland camogie wins on 2024 and 2026 \u2013 is joined by Gemma Hayes and Jennifer Mehigan (both of St Finbarr\u2019s) as well as Douglas\u2019s Kieran McCarthy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI’m thrilled to be involved with the Ireland team once more in 2026,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving previously been involved as a player, and having managed the group last year in Inverness, it is a brilliant opportunity to represent your country.<\/p>\n

Eamon O\u2019Shea of Tipperary has been appointed to manage the Ireland team for the hurling-shinty international and there will also be a Cork influence in that backroom team \u2013 1990 All-Ireland medallist John Considine, who has managed the county at U21, minor and U17 as well as senior on an interim basis, is part of the management.<\/p>\n
Also involving in assisting O\u2019Shea are Seamus \u2018Cheddar\u2019 Plunkett (Laois), Patrick Hannon (Monaghan) and Conor Hayes (Galway).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe management team and myself really looking forward to the challenge,\u201d said the former Tipperary manager, who was a coach for the county\u2019s All-Ireland win of 2010 and was also part of the Premier County set-up for the 2019 victory.<\/p>\n
