With the numbers dwindling and confidence badly shaken, friendships and alliances came under increasing pressure on Tuesday night’s The Traitors Ireland.<\/p>\n

And as the endgame edged closer, one player was already thinking several moves ahead.<\/p>\n

***Warning: Spoilers for Tuesday night\u2019s episode of The Traitors Ireland follow.***<\/p>\n

\"The
\nSiobh\u00e1n McSweeney enjoying her time at Slance Castle<\/p>\n

“Did you murder me?”<\/p>\n

The episode picked up after the Traitors\u2019 murder-in-plain-sight task, with Janet convinced something had happened to her.<\/p>\n

Her suspicions quickly fell on Pauric O after he had taken her hand and joked about dancing the night away.<\/p>\n

“Did you murder me?” she asked.<\/p>\n

\"Janet
\nJanet knew Pauric O murdered her in plain sight… but no one believed her<\/p>\n

Pauric denied it, insisting he had only been trying to cheer her up, but Janet was not convinced.<\/p>\n

For Pauric, the situation was getting dangerously close to the truth.<\/p>\n

“This is me done. I\u2019m finished now. Like, there\u2019s no way I\u2019m getting out of this,” he said.<\/p>\n

But when Janet walked into breakfast the following morning, she apologised for potentially setting him up and accepted his explanation.<\/p>\n

The relief did not last long.<\/p>\n

Away with the fairies<\/p>\n

At the mission, Siobh\u00e1n McSweeney revealed that the Traitors had indeed murdered in plain sight.<\/p>\n

Their victim had been marked to be “taken by the fairies” and replaced with a changeling, and the players could add \u20ac2,000 to the prize pot if they worked out who it was.<\/p>\n

A series of clues eventually left Anna, Janet, Ian and DJ as the four possible victims.<\/p>\n

By then, Janet feared she knew what was coming.<\/p>\n

“The Faithful know everything. They know all my thoughts. They know who I would have come for at the table, and they most importantly know who murdered me in plain sight,” she said.<\/p>\n

A final trial by fire confirmed Janet was the changeling.<\/p>\n

And she had no doubt who was responsible.<\/p>\n

“It has to be Pauric O. Like, there\u2019s no question about it.”<\/p>\n

Pauric knew exactly how bad it looked.<\/p>\n

“Well done whoever the f*** that was. Well f***ing done,” he said, as he appeared to believe somebody had deliberately set him up.<\/p>\n

Pete comes under the spotlight<\/p>\n

Suspicion initially swung towards Pauric, with DJ describing him as potentially “our easiest catch ever”.<\/p>\n

Pete, however, was convinced he had been set up.<\/p>\n

And before long, attention began moving elsewhere.<\/p>\n

\nPeople are beginning to get suspicious of Pete<\/p>\n

Pete had already caused concern when he told Ian, “If I was a Faithful”, wording Ian immediately picked up on.<\/p>\n

He had also strongly defended Kayleigh the previous night, only to suggest the following day that she may have been recruited.<\/p>\n

By the time they arrived at the Round Table, Pete had some explaining to do.<\/p>\n

Another Faithful falls<\/p>\n

Siobh\u00e1n told the players the prize pot now stood at \u20ac26,850 before reminding them of their recent record.<\/p>\n

“This room used to be the place where you\u2019d catch them,” she said.<\/p>\n

“For the last few days, the only thing that has been shaking is your confidence.”<\/p>\n

Pete opened proceedings by going after DJ, questioning his previous lie and the way he responded when challenged.<\/p>\n

\nIt was time for DJ to pack his bags and leave the castle<\/p>\n

DJ hit back, raising Pauric\u2019s interaction with Janet and questioning whether the murder in plain sight might have been exactly what it appeared to be.<\/p>\n

Pauric argued that Janet herself had apologised to him at breakfast for putting a target on his back.<\/p>\n

“If she thought I killed her in plain sight, why did she not come in this morning all guns blazing still?” he asked.<\/p>\n

Kayleigh then challenged Pete over his sudden change of heart about her, while Ian summed up the increasingly tangled debate: “There was definitely one Traitor in that car by the sounds of it.”<\/p>\n

When it came to the vote, Kayleigh and DJ chose Pete.<\/p>\n

Everyone else voted for DJ.<\/p>\n

An emotional DJ told the group he had experienced “one of the best times of my life” in the castle before revealing he had been a Faithful.<\/p>\n

“Another night, another Faithful gone,” Siobh\u00e1n said.<\/p>\n

“A very unfortunate pattern is beginning to emerge.”<\/p>\n

“How am I after getting away with that one?”<\/p>\n

Pauric could barely believe it.<\/p>\n

Despite being directly linked to Janet\u2019s murder, he had survived another Round Table with relatively little pressure.<\/p>\n

“I think I\u2019m in shock, not over the banishment at Round Table. The fact that there wasn\u2019t more heat on me,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Like, how am I after getting away with that one?”<\/p>\n

\"Pauric
\nPauric O can’t believe his luck<\/p>\n

Carla appeared equally astonished that the Faithfuls had not pushed him harder.<\/p>\n

Pauric then strengthened his position further by striking an endgame pact with Ian.<\/p>\n

The pair shook hands after discussing Pete and Carla as possible Traitors, with Ian saying he wanted to win the game alongside Pauric.<\/p>\n

“I just fully trust him here now,” Ian said.<\/p>\n

He went even further, suggesting that even if Pauric was a Traitor, he believed he would still bring him to the final.<\/p>\n

The power of the dagger<\/p>\n

There was no murder to end the night.<\/p>\n

Instead, Siobh\u00e1n arrived at the Conclave with a ceremonial dagger which will give its holder two votes at the next Round Table.<\/p>\n

Carla and Pauric could keep it for themselves or hand it to a Faithful.<\/p>\n

Pauric argued that giving it away to Anna or Diego could create more confusion.<\/p>\n

But there was another shift taking place inside the Conclave.<\/p>\n

\nSiobh\u00e1n delivers another twist to the Traitors Carla and Pauric<\/p>\n

Pauric reflected on how he had backed Carla since becoming a Traitor, including supporting her choices to murder Sam and Se\u00e1n C.<\/p>\n

Now, he was ready to change tack.<\/p>\n

“I think from now on I need to think about me,” he said.<\/p>\n

“I am taking charge. It\u2019s got to be my decision what happens.”<\/p>\n
