Analyst Jeff Pu has been keeping track of iPhone 18 Pro<\/a> and iPhone 18 Pro Max<\/a> wait times for the various configurations. Based on that data, Pu says that the pre-order wait times are \u201clukewarm\u201d.<\/p>\n

The stats are as follows. The most popular 256GB and 512GB models are showing 3-4 week wait times for most colors. Pricier 1TB and 2TB models are available immediately if you want a Silver phone, with 1-2 weeks wait times for Black and Glacier models and 3-4 weeks for the Burgundy version.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to tell that the new Burgundy color is by far the most popular option, while the Silver color doesn\u2019t get much love from iPhone buyers.<\/p>\n

For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max also hit 3-4 week wait times last year<\/a>. But this happened on September 13, just a day after pre-orders<\/a> started and six days ahead of the scheduled availability date. iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max pre-orders started on September 12<\/a> and will be available in the first wave of countries on the 18th.<\/p>\n

Pu attributes the lower demand to the limited upgrades and the higher prices of the 18 Pro models. They are quite heavy too. There\u2019s also the draw of the iPhone Duo to consider \u2013 a lot of people will want to try Apple\u2019s first foldable.<\/p>\n

Analysts will continue to keep a close eye on iPhone 18 Pro (Max) sales and next month they will start tracking the iPhone Duo as well. Apple postponed the launch of the new vanilla and Air models until next year, so it will be a while before we see how they perform.<\/p>\n
