A man has been hospitalised following a stabbing incident in north Dublin this afternoon.<\/p>\n

The incident happened in Clarehall shortly after 3pm. Garda\u00ed have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.<\/p>\n

A garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: “Garda\u00ed and emergency services responded to reports of an incident at a shopping centre in Clarehall, Dublin<\/a>, shortly after 3:30pm this afternoon, 15th September 2026.<\/p>\n

“An adult male sustained injuries during the incident and was transported to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Coolock Garda<\/a> Station at 01 666 4200 or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111. No additional information is available at this time.”<\/p>\n

Tom Brabazon, TD for Dublin Bay North and Fianna Fail Justice spokesperson, told Dublin Live he was appalled at events that unfolded this afternoon. “First and foremost anyone with information regarding the incident should immediately contact Coolick Gardai,” he said.<\/p>\n

“I am very conscious that there is a live investigation and I do not wish to add speculation into the discourse. However it is my understanding that a man was stabbed in this incident. This is one too many of these types of incidents and we need to get tough on knife crime generally.<\/p>\n

“There doesn’t appear any value on life anymore and this isn’t right. We need to put a higher tariff on knife crime and send out a really strong signal that carrying and possessing a knife with criminal intent will not be tolerated. Gardai and authorities take knife crime very seriously but much more needs to be done to dissuade individuals from carrying knives.”<\/p>\n
