The strike vote follows that of the <a href=\"https:\/\/hyperallergic.com\/guggenheim-museum-union-votes-to-authorize-strike\/\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Guggenheim Museum union<\/a>, which voted to authorize strike action this June after six months of stalled contract negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>Ratified in 2023, inaugural three-year union contracts at the Whitney and the Brooklyn Museum expired this summer. The Brooklyn Museum contract was ratified <a href=\"https:\/\/hyperallergic.com\/averting-strike-brooklyn-museum-union-ratifies-first-contract\/\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the day before its union planned to strike<\/a>, averting the action entirely after stalled negotiations since 2021.
