The BBC has revealed the launch date for the second series of The Celebrity Traitors.<\/p>\n
The BBC reality gameshow will return on Thursday, 1 October with an extra-long opening episode at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, while sister show Traitors: Uncloaked will follow the main series episodes on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, and BBC Sounds.<\/p>\n
Viewers will also find out how presenter Claudia Winkleman chooses her Traitors in Traitor or Faithful? Claudia Decides, which will air on BBC iPlayer.<\/p>\n
The date was revealed along with a new trailer for the series, which showed the celebrity contestants meeting in a church before a knock on the door, revealed to be Winkleman.<\/p>\n
Winkleman tells them: “(I’m) just putting the final touches to my favourite game, players. I have chosen my Traitors; the game is on. There are now killers among you. Fame won’t save them.”<\/p>\n
In the clip, stars including Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, and Miranda Hart are then seen entering the castle.<\/p>\n

The full line-up also includes Joanne McNally, Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Myha’la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft, and Sharon Rooney.<\/p>\n
The show will see the stars compete to win a cash prize of up to \u00a3100,000 for a charity of their choice.<\/p>\n
Set in a Scottish castle in the Highlands, the game follows the celebrity contestants \u2013 the majority of whom are known as Faithfuls \u2013 as they try to seek out the murderous Traitors among them, who kill off players in the middle of the night.<\/p>\n
The first series of The Celebrity Traitors aired on the BBC last autumn, with its nail-biting finale hitting a peak of 15.4 million viewers in the UK, according to the broadcaster.<\/p>\n
It featured a star-studded cast including actors Celia Imrie and Nick Mohammed, singer Paloma Faith, author and actor Stephen Fry, broadcaster Jonathan Ross, and comedian Alan Carr, who went on to win as a Traitor.<\/p>\n
The Celebrity Traitors brought in an average audience of 14.9 million people during its run \u2013 the biggest TV audience of 2025 in the UK.<\/p>\n
