Customers of nursery stores in Limerick and Dublin who have pre-paid for goods are being advised to contact their banks about possible chargebacks after the company entered provisional liquidation.<\/p>\n
Provisional liquidators have been appointed to Deal-Doc Technology Limited, which trades as BabyDoc Shop.<\/p>\n
The company, which sells baby and nursery products in the Delta Retail Park in Limerick and Deansgrange in Dublin, said it experienced a significant deterioration in trading and cashflow during 2026.<\/p>\n
BabyDoc Shop founders Mike Morrissey and David Keenaghan said they were “devastated” that the company had reached this point.<\/p>\n
The pair said they had built the business from the ground up over more than a decade and had explored “every realistic option” to secure its future.<\/p>\n
They said their immediate concern was for employees and customers with outstanding orders.<\/p>\n
“We know how stressful and upsetting this will be, particularly for families preparing for the arrival of a baby, and we are deeply sorry for the uncertainty this has caused,” they said.<\/p>\n
The founders said the company had acted early when trading conditions deteriorated, reducing costs, securing additional working capital and engaging professional advisers to explore investment, restructuring and a potential sale.<\/p>\n
However, they said it had ultimately not been possible to secure a viable solution.<\/p>\n
The company currently has 11 full-time and two part-time employees.<\/p>\n
The liquidators will now work to secure the company’s assets and establish the position of creditors and customers.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for Interpath who appointed the liquidators, said: “We recognise in particular the concern of customers who have paid deposits or pre-paid for goods that have not been supplied.”<\/p>\n
Customers who paid by debit or credit card are being advised to contact their bank or card provider promptly to ask whether a chargeback may be available.<\/p>\n
Interpath said it would provide further information to affected customers once the underlying position had been verified.<\/p>\n
