{"id":626518,"date":"2026-09-16T14:56:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T14:56:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/626518\/"},"modified":"2026-09-16T14:56:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T14:56:15","slug":"apple-music-select-brings-playlists-to-icloud-subscribers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/626518\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Music Select brings playlists to iCloud+ subscribers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple is adding some new services into its iCloud+ cloud-storage subscription in more than 100 countries around the world, including a taster tier for Apple Music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The changes were announced in the individual countries: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/mz\/newsroom\/2026\/09\/icloud-plus-expands-to-include-apple-tv-and-apple-arcade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">here\u2019s the press release for Mozambique<\/a> for example. The subscription now includes full access to Apple TV and Apple Arcade (Apple\u2019s gaming service).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for music, iCloud+ subscribers WON\u2019T get full access to Apple Music. What they\u2019re getting is \u2018Apple Music Select\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company described this as \u201ca collection of ad-free stations programmed by Apple Music for lean-back listening, offering a wide range of regionally relevant music to enjoy, as well as Top Songs, 80s, 90s, and more\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">iCloud+ subscribers will also be able to upgrade to the full Apple Music service for a discounted monthly price. So, this isn\u2019t a \u2018free\u2019 tier for Apple Music (since iCloud+ is a paid subscription), but it is a potentially-powerful new funnel to drive music subscriptions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The offer is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macworld.com\/article\/3236040\/icloud-gets-an-upgrade-in-100-countries-free-apple-tv-arcade-and-new-music-select.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">rolling out to more than 100 countries<\/a>, but there are some key omissions from the list: the US, UK and major European and Scandinavian countries for example.
