There\u2019s huge sadness in Kilkenny on the death of Eamonn Langton.<\/p>\n

The businessman served visitors and people of the locality for decades, having taken over the premises his parents opened on John Street which has since been expanded to include Langton House Hotel, the Sixty Seven Bar, Set Theatre, John Street Tearooms and Bridie\u2019s Bar, with the associated Marble City Bar and Tearooms on Kieran Street also popular. Eamonn was a huge supporter of other local enterprises, groupings and individuals and was known for a lot of behind-the-scenes acts of kindness.<\/p>\n

While his love of music was key to his former role of showband promoter.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Though a hard worker, his heart was with his family; wife Trish, their children Edward, Conor and Tracey and in latter years he cherished his role as Grandfather to eight Grandchildren.<\/p>\n

Eamonn was awarded the Freedom of Kilkenny city just three months ago (our coverage on that is here<\/a>) and in 2022 was presented with the Kilkenny Chamber President\u2019s Award at the Kilkenny Business Awards.<\/p>\n

Eamonn died, peacefully, at home overnight.<\/p>\n

Reposal is in Johnston\u2019s Funeral Home<\/a>, John\u2019s Green, Kilkenny tomorrow (Thursday, 17th Sept) from 3pm with Prayers at 7pm.<\/p>\n

Requiem Mass is at 12noon on Friday in St. John\u2019s Church, Kilkenny after which he\u2019ll be laid to rest in Foulkstown Cemetery.<\/p>\n

Former Chair of Kilkenny GAA County Board Ned Quinn has been telling The KCLR Daily more;<\/p>\n

A recipient of the Kilkenny Chamber President\u2019s Award at the Kilkenny Business Awards in 2022, the current President of that organisation Claire McInerney Brown with KCLR CEO John Purcell also joined our Brian Redmond to pay tribute;<\/p>\n

One listener rang KCLR to tell of her wedding, held at Langton\u2019s, the anniversary of which also falls today;<\/p>\n
