Apple’s iOS 27<\/a> includes a bug that can make your iPhone temporarily unresponsive, but it only if you go out of your way to trigger it. <\/p>\n

While the iOS 27 update refined Apple’s Liquid Glass aesthetic, the software<\/a> also brought with it an apparent user interface bug. Quickly toggling and switching between the Control Center and Notification Center can seemingly make devices unresponsive. <\/p>\n

In essence, the bug needs to be triggered deliberately by quickly opening the Notification Center, then immediately activating the Control Center. Unless you’re testing animations or how well iOS 27 runs on your iPhone<\/a>, there’s no point in repeatedly switching between the two UI elements like this. <\/p>\n

Still, that hasn’t stopped social media users from complaining<\/a> and saying this can “brick” an iPhone. Some have claimed this Notification Center issue disables “scrolling physics,” that their notifications no longer work, or that they can’t swipe between Home Screen pages. <\/p>\n

AppleInsider tried to trigger this specific bug, and while it did stop Notification Center from opening, it did not make the device unresponsive. The issue itself doesn’t appear to be new, either. <\/p>\n

According to a Reddit post<\/a>, the Notification Center bug was present in iOS 27 beta builds, including the Release Candidate version. It looks like Apple hasn’t fixed this issue, even in the public release build of iOS 27. <\/p>\n

If you have encountered this apparent UI glitch on iOS 27, you simply need to force-reboot your device to get your Notification Center and Home Screen working again. <\/p>\n

To force-reboot an iPhone on iOS 27, do the following: <\/p>\n

Press and release the Volume Up buttonPress and release the Volume Down buttonHold the side button until the Apple logo appearsOnce you’ve completed these steps, your iPhone should restart and boot into iOS 27 without issues.
