\n\tCBS\u2019 Fire Country<\/a> spinoff Sheriff Country<\/a> should change its name to Sheriffs Country in Season 2, which will features two Sheriffs, Morena Baccarin<\/a>\u2018s Mickey Fox and Sheriff Jim Wade, played by Baccarin\u2019s Gotham co-star and real-rife husband Ben McKenzie<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tCBS announced last month<\/a> that McKenzie will guest star in the Season 2 premiere of Sheriff Country, which airs on Oct. 9. During a press event for the new season today, Baccarin let it slip that McKenzie will be returning for more.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe\u2019s here now, he comes back, spoiler alert,\u201d she said from the Toronto set of the cop drama series. <\/p>\n

\n\tSo far, McKenzie has been locked in for two episodes, with more appearances likely. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was giddy actually, it was really fun to work together,\u201d Baccarin added. \u201cI like saying that last time we worked together, he was the boss, and now I\u2019m the boss, so it\u2019s better. But it does make me very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMcKenzie was the lead of Fox\u2019s DC drama Gotham where he and Baccarin met; on Sheriff Country, she is No.1 on the call sheet. <\/p>\n

\n\tBaccarin spoke about working her her spouse.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI live a very lonely existence here in Toronto, I\u2019m just literally working every single day and going home to a very empty house \u2014 not that you need to feel sorry for me, I\u2019m very grateful for it,\u201d she said. \u201cBut it\u2019s been really lovely to go to work together, take the same car, go home, talk about it, have dinner; I feel very spoiled. And his part is very fun. I think people are going to get a really real kick out of it. It\u2019s not what you would expect for the two of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMcKenzie\u2019s casting announcement listed Sheriff Wade as a neighboring sheriff who is called in to assist Mickey (Baccarin) and has a few secrets of his own.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a recent interview with Deadline, Sheriff Country executive producer\/showrunner Matt Lopez revealed more details about Wade\u2019s history and dynamic with Mickey. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe and Mickey came up together. They\u2019re roughly the same age, but he\u2019s been sheriff a lot longer than she\u2019s been sheriff,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen we first met her in Fire Country, she wasn\u2019t even sheriff yet. She\u2019s only been sheriff for a couple of years, whereas he\u2019s been sheriff for 10 years. So even though they\u2019re the same age, he\u2019s got more seniority. She leans on him for advice and so on, and they go way back.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile McKenzie and Baccarin\u2019s characters on Gotham became romantically involved and ultimately got married in the final season, do not expect the same trajectory on Sheriff Country. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019ll find out that they share a long personal history,\u201d Lopez said. \u201cThat\u2019s not to say romantic because it\u2019s not, but he was instrumental\u2026 He\u2019s [Mickey\u2019s daughter] Skye\u2019s godfather. We find out like he\u2019s been a key part of Mickey\u2019s life, and and then in recent years they\u2019ve been less contact. But now in Season 2, work and life are going to throw them back into each other\u2019s lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBaccarin spoke about Mickey steering clear of relationships in Season 2.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, given that my last boyfriend didn\u2019t work out so good for us, I think Mickey\u2019s feeling a little burned at the moment, it\u2019s all about getting her life back on track,\u201d she said. \u201cI know that there are plans to have some sort of love interest, but I think a little bit further in the future for Mickey.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile romance may not be in the cards for Mickey and Wade, Baccarin and Fire Country star Max Thieriot<\/a> teased a new Fire Country-Sheriff Country franchise couple. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m gonna drop this bomb but only hint at it. There may be some cross-show\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCrossover love,\u201d Baccarin interjected.<\/p>\n
