A solar farm in Wexford is among seven renewable energy projects being launched as part of a 290-megawatt portfolio by Power Capital Renewable Energy.<\/p>\n

The Dell solar farm in Wexford forms part of the company’s RESS 2 portfolio, which spans seven projects across Dublin, Galway, Roscommon, Wicklow, Kilkenny, Meath and Wexford.<\/p>\n

The portfolio represents a major step towards Power Capital’s goal of developing a renewable energy portfolio approaching one gigawatt across Ireland.<\/p>\n

The projects were officially launched at the Mainscourt Solar Farm in Ballyboughal, County Dublin, by Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment Darragh O’Brien.<\/p>\n

Power Capital says the projects will also deliver long-term benefits to communities through Community Benefit Funds established under the Government’s Renewable Electricity Support Scheme.<\/p>\n

The seven projects are expected to contribute around \u20ac500,000 a year to local communities, amounting to an estimated \u20ac7.4 million over 15 years.<\/p>\n

Funding will support locally-led projects including community facilities, energy efficiency, biodiversity, education and accessibility initiatives.<\/p>\n

Power Capital CEO Justin Brown says the projects demonstrate what can be achieved through long-term investment and collaboration, while also delivering benefits to the communities hosting the developments.<\/p>\n
