Homes throughout Ireland are being encouraged to find out whether they qualify for a payment of up to \u20ac420 annually to assist with energy costs, along with a fully-funded TV licence.The Household Benefits Package offers financial assistance towards electricity or gas bills, and also includes entitlement to a fully-funded TV licence.For those aged 70 or above, the scheme is not means-tested and no qualifying social welfare payment is needed. Those under 70 may also apply, though certain conditions apply.At present, over 550,000 households receive the Household Benefits Package. Only one package is payable per household, and recipients must live in Ireland on a full-time basis, reports Galway Beo<\/a>.Minister for Social Protection Dara Calleary said at The National Ploughing Championships: “The Household Benefits Package provides meaningful support and can help with finances, particularly through the winter months.”He urged anyone wishing to verify their eligibility to get in touch with the Department of Social Protection team at the National Ploughing Championship or ring 0818 200 400.<\/p>\n Want to see more of the stories you love from Dublin Live?
