\n\tWhile the trailers HBO<\/a> has released for its upcoming \u201cHarry Potter<\/a>\u201d reboot share a lot of similarities with the original movies, the music will be totally different.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn an interview with Collider, Hans Zimmer spoke about the how intimidating it was to follow the footsteps of iconic composer John Williams. \u201cHarry Potter\u201d marks Zimmer\u2019s second project based on IP that Williams had already written for \u2014 he previously scored Zack Snyder\u2019s 2013 Superman film \u201cMan of Steel\u201d after Williams had composed for the 1978 \u201cSuperman\u201d film and its 1980 sequel.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked about whether his \u201cHarry Potter\u201d music would be similar to Williams\u2019, Zimmer pointed to his experience on \u201cMan of Steel,\u201d saying, \u201cI can\u2019t write like John Williams, but even if I could, I would try to stay away as far as possible and try to be original.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen I was doing \u2018Man of Steel,\u2019 which, of course, is Superman, for three months I was running around going, \u2018I don\u2019t know. I can\u2019t do this. I can\u2019t do this because it\u2019s John Williams. John Williams is \u2014 it\u2019s brilliant! It\u2019s brilliant!’\u201d Zimmer said, as Williams had composed the score for He went on to explain that Christopher Nolan was a producer on \u201cMan of Steel\u201d and pushed Zack Snyder to check on Zimmer\u2019s progress. \u201cZack phoned me and said, \u2018Can I come down?\u2019 I go, \u2018I don\u2019t really have anything,\u2019 and he goes, \u2018Well, I\u2019ll be there on Tuesday.\u2019 So I came up with a tune, but I still was incredibly worried about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tZimmer continued, \u201cZack just said the simplest thing to me. He said, \u2018Hans, it was just a movie. This is just a movie.\u2019 And that was so liberating. It\u2019s just a movie, and my life is all about making music for movies, which I do because I love it. I love the movies, and I love having fun with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWilliams was the composer on the first three \u201cHarry Potter\u201d films, which were released between 2001 and 2004. \u201cHedwig\u2019s Theme,\u201d the musical motif most commonly associated with the IP, appears in all seven films and is widely considered one of the greatest pieces of film music ever.<\/p>\n

\n\tSeason 1 of the \u201cHarry Potter\u201d reboot will debut on HBO near Christmas.
