Harry Kane smashed the 49-year-old record for the fastest player to score 100 Bundesliga goals in Bayern Munich’s 7-0 victory over Union Berlin, his 98th league game for the club.<\/p>\n

Cologne\u2019s Dieter Muller set the previous mark in 1977, but it took him 129 matches and, with the England captain scoring at better than a goal, a game a new record had been inevitable for some time.<\/p>\n

Since his arrival in 2023 Kane had been averaging a Bundesliga goal every 78.5 minutes and has now scored 152 in 154 appearances in all competitions, including 61 in 51 games last term.<\/p>\n

He blasted home a 39th-minute penalty to take the record before nodding in a Michael Olise cross early in the second half to send Bayern top of the table ahead of the weekend matches.<\/p>\n

The feat stole the spotlight from Olise, who scored his first Bayern hat-trick, and Jamal Musiala who also scored a goal worthy of winning the game.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m very proud to have now scored 100 and 101 Bundesliga goals. I haven\u2019t been around that long. I\u2019ve loved every second of it,” he told Sky Germany.<\/p>\n

“With Michael, Lucho (Luis Diaz) and Jamal I naturally get chances and today was no exception.<\/p>\n

“So I just want to thank the team, the club, the coach, and the staff \u2013 everyone who has helped me achieve this.<\/p>\n

“Let\u2019s keep going like this. Scoring more goals in games is obviously a big step. Of course, there have been many important goals among them. I can only say that I\u2019m enjoying every minute of it.
