After smartphones, Huawei<\/a> is looking at smartwatches<\/a> with a new \u201cscreen-free\u201d form factor plan. A survey suggests that the company could soon unveil a health-based smart band wearable with a display-less design. Let\u2019s check the details.<\/p>\n

The5Krunner -a technology media outlet has recently reported<\/a> that Huawei is seemingly planning for screen-free smartwatches, specifically smart bands<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Some Huawei phone users noted an official survey on one of the system apps (Smart Life or Health), entitled \u201cInnovative Smart Wearable Survey \u2013 Screen-free Band\u201d.<\/p>\n

It said:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are researching how people feel about screen-free bands to better understand interest and purchase intent across different markets.<\/p>\n

If Huawei is really planning for a screen-less wearable, it would be another such brand in the market after Whoop. WHOOP<\/a> is famous for its display-free design and relies on a minimalist sensor pod + fabric strap that tracks data 24\/7.<\/p>\n

Looks like Huawei aims for something bigger with this survey \u2013 no screens, no buttons, or flashlights \u2013 a perfect smart band that prevents daily distractions.<\/p>\n

The survey seems to have around 25 multiple-choice questions regarding types of wearables a person likes to wear, or preference for using the device, and more. It specifically asks about price, features, battery life, watch straps, and health points one would like to see in a screen-free smart band model.<\/p>\n

Notably, Huawei has directly questioned users about their interests as well as resistance to paid subscriptions in this survey. Perhaps the company wanted to understand if recurring payments could be an obstacle to purchasing the device.<\/p>\n

Huawei further asked users about rival products like Whoop, Garmin Cirqa, Google Fitbit Air, Amazfit Helio Strap, Polar Loop, Hume Health Band, and Luna Band.<\/p>\n

Whether the company will really launch such a smart band or the survey was just for interaction purposes is unclear at present.<\/p>\n
