Ringo Starr<\/a> has shared a devastating update about a reunion of The Beatles, saying he believes the band would have made more music if John Lennon<\/a> and George Harrison<\/a> were still alive. <\/p>\n

In an interview with Page Six<\/a>, Starr opened up about the loss of his former bandmates and reminisced on the glory days of The Beatles<\/a>. <\/p>\n

To this day, the Beatles remain one of the biggest bands the world has ever seen.\u00a0Getty<\/p>\n

\u201cI do think we possibly would have got together sometime from, you know, John leaving us to now, if we were all still around, you know,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd George, you know, I miss George.\u201d<\/p>\n

The band announced their split on April 10, 1970. Ten years later in 1980, Lennon was shot by a crazed fan<\/a> in New York City. Harrison died of cancer<\/a> in 2001. <\/p>\n

Starr and Paul McCartney remain in close contact as the last two surviving members of the band, speaking a couple of times a month. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf he\u2019s in England, we go to visit England, mainly to visit family, (if) we know, we\u2019ll have dinner or we\u2019ll go around and hang,\u201d Starr said.<\/p>\n

While a reunion of the remaining members isn\u2019t on the cards, Starr shared he and McCartney still work together, with the drummer featuring on McCartney\u2019s latest record and vice versa. <\/p>\n

Remembering being in the band as having \u2018three brothers\u2019, Starr said his favourite part of being a Beatle was \u201cthe friendship, the togetherness, the support of each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m an only child. I had three brothers. And you know, brothers up rows and you know little get-togethers, and then little get-aparts,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd for me, it was great. And musically it was dynamite, which it still is out there. You know, the chance to play that. Right. And you know, it\u2019s all happened in eight years.\u201d<\/p>\n

The group formed in the \u201950s, with Starr joining the band and completing the iconic four-piece in 1962. <\/p>\n

By 1964 The Beatles were a worldwide phenomenon, with the craze around the band popularly referred to as Beatlemania.<\/p>\n
