{"id":630166,"date":"2026-09-20T04:16:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T04:16:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/630166\/"},"modified":"2026-09-20T04:16:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T04:16:12","slug":"two-women-arrested-after-cannabis-and-suspected-cocaine-seized-in-dublin-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/630166\/","title":{"rendered":"Two women arrested after cannabis and suspected cocaine seized in Dublin \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Suspected cocaine with an estimated value of \u20ac368,000 and herbal cannabis with an estimated value of \u20ac79,800 were seized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\">garda\u00ed<\/a> and Revenue customs officers in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\">Dublin<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Two women, both aged in their 20s, were arrested and are being detained in Garda stations in north Dublin under the provisions of section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">They were subsequently charged and were due to appear in court on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">As part of an intelligence-led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Coolock District Drugs Unit, some 5.7kg of herbal cannabis was seized by Revenue officers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Suspected cocaine, subject to analysis, with an estimated value of \u20ac368,000, was also seized in the operation.
