Two people have died in separate road crashes in the country overnight.<\/p>\n
A man in his 20s has died in a car crash in Co Limerick while a man in his 50s has died in a car crash in Co Meath.<\/p>\n
In Limerick, the man in his 20s died in a single-vehicle car crash while two passengers in the car were taken to hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
The crash occurred on the N21 at Cummeen, Adare, Co Limerick, at around 2.40am.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed said the car struck a tree.<\/p>\n
The driver, who was aged in his 20s, died at the scene.<\/p>\n
His body was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.<\/p>\n
The two passengers, another man aged in his 20s and an adult teenager, were taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.<\/p>\n
The passenger in his 20s remains in a critical condition. The adult teenager received non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
The road at Cummeen was closed this morning for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions were put in place.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to road users, who were travelling on the N21 at Cummeen, between 2.15am and 2.45am, and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), to make it available to them.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile in Co Meath, the man in his 50s died when his car struck a premises.<\/p>\n
The crash occurred on Connaught Street, Athboy, Co Meath, at around 2am.<\/p>\n
The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.<\/p>\n
His body was taken to the mortuary at Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan, for a post-mortem examination.<\/p>\n
