William Shatner<\/a> has made his heavy metal live debut, performing covers of Ozzy Osbourne<\/a>, Metallica<\/a> and Mot\u00f6rhead<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 watch below.<\/p>\n

The 95-year-old Star Trek<\/a> legend\u00a0played\u00a0a warm-up show at Chicago\u2019s Park West last night (September 19) with his newly-formed metal band The *uckers, playing a six-song set ahead of his appearance at Riot Fest today (September 20)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The performance saw Shatner and the group tackle Osbourne\u2019s \u2018Crazy Train\u2019, Metallica\u2019s \u2018Enter Sandman\u2019 and Mot\u00f6rhead\u2019s \u2018Ace Of Spades\u2019, alongside three original songs from his forthcoming metal album \u2018What The F Is Heavy Metal?\u2019.<\/p>\n

Shatner had teased the unlikely new chapter in his musical career ahead of the performance, writing on social media: \u201cI have explored space. I have explored time. Now \u2026 I explore distortion.\u201d<\/p>\n

The *uckers consist of guitarist and musical director Marcus Nand, Vixen<\/a> guitarist Britt Lightning, bassist Phil Soussan \u2013 who previously played with Osbourne \u2013 and drummer Fred Aching.<\/p>\n

Last night\u2019s appearance served as a warm-up for their performance at Riot Fest in Chicago\u2019s Douglass Park today, with Shatner and band scheduled to play a 40-minute slot.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the summer,\u00a0Shatner revealed a suitably extravagant list of rider demands for his Riot Fest performance<\/a>, including \u201cmany\u201d fire-breathers, a DeLorean to transport him to the stage, four feet of Polish sausage and an assortment of adoptable puppies.<\/p>\n

The rider also requested an introductory film made by GWAR<\/a>, eight pallets of Faygo and a Montreal Canadiens hockey jersey signed by John Stamos.<\/p>\n

The forthcoming record is also set to feature an array of prominent metal and rock guests, including Queen<\/a>\u2019s Brian May<\/a>, Black Sabbath<\/a>\u2019s Tony Iommi<\/a>, Judas Priest<\/a> frontman Rob Halford, Disturbed<\/a> bassist John Moyer and former Slayer<\/a> drummer Dave Lombardo.<\/p>\n

The actor has also indicated that The *uckers\u2019 live career could continue beyond Riot Fest. Last month, Shatner appeared to accidentally reveal that the band had been booked for Coachella 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He told CNN that they were due to perform a 30-minute set at \u201cthe one in the desert\u201d next spring, with his daughter Melanie Shatner Gretsch confirming that he meant Coachella.
