\n\tDirector Aaron Sorkin<\/a> told The New York Times in the latest edition of The Interview<\/a> that his \u201cSocial Reckoning\u201d star Jeremy Strong<\/a>, a known method actor<\/a>, was treating his co-stars \u201cthe way he imagines\u201d Mark Zuckerberg would treat them during filming. Strong, of course, plays the Meta CEO in \u201cThe Social Network\u201d follow-up.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cJeremy does a lot of his own work. He does a tremendous amount of work before he shows up on your set,\u201d Sorkin said. \u201cHe did not speak in his own voice on the set or walk the way Jeremy walks.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued, \u201cI told all the other actors in his scenes: \u2018Guys, he\u2019s not going to be hanging out with you at craft service. He\u2019s not going to be yucking it up with you between takes. He\u2019s probably not going to speak to you at all. He is going to treat you the way he imagines Mark treats the people around him.\u2019 And that\u2019s what happened. You cannot argue with the results.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJeremy Allen White, Mikey Madison. Bill Burr, Betty Gilpin and Billy Magnussen star alongside Strong in \u201cThe Social Reckoning<\/a>,\u201d which follows whistleblower Frances Haugen, who teams up with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz to expose the sinister inner workings of Zuckerberg\u2019s Facebook.<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite turbulence with the rollout of other tech dramas like the OpenAI expose \u201cArtificial,\u201d<\/a> Sorkin explained there has been no such trouble with \u201cThe Social Reckoning.\u201d He said that reps for Meta reached out asking for tickets to see the film.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s my understanding that Sony did get letters from Meta, and I do not think those letters said: \u2018We\u2019re wishing you all the luck in the world. Send us some tickets for opening night,\u2019\u201d Sorkin said. \u201cUnder ordinary circumstances, with a piece of nonfiction, the studio\u2019s legal department would do a thorough vet. With this movie, they hired an outside law firm just to handle the legal vet to make sure that every single thing that is presented as a fact is a fact.\u201d<\/p>\n
