\n\t\u201cBad Taste,\u201d Freya Skye<\/a>\u2018s latest single, tops this week\u2019s new music poll<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tListeners voted in a poll published Friday (Sept. 18)\u00a0on\u00a0Billboard<\/a>, choosing the just-released tune from the singer-songwriter\/actress (known for her role in Disney\u2019s Zombies franchise) as their favorite new music.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBad Taste\u201d popped to the top of the poll in a week stacked with new songs. The track was up against releases from ROS\u00c9, Miley, Carly Rae Jepsen, Riley Green and more. Fans showed up for Skye, whose single brought in 82% of the vote.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBad Taste\u201d has Skye laughing off her own dating blunders. <\/p>\n

\n\tShe sings about being attracted to a \u201cgood messy situation\u201d on the playful pop tune, and admits, \u201cI\u2019m a sucker for a pretty face\/ I\u2019m a sucker for a mistake\/ We\u2019re off to a good start, wonder how you\u2019ll make my heart br\u0435ak\/ I don\u2019t care\/ That I got, I got bad taste.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThough the fully produced recording of \u201cBad Taste\u201d just dropped, Skye previewed a live, acoustic rendition of the song in December at her first headlining concert in New York City. As she recalled to Billboard<\/a>, the nerve-racking moment left her \u201cquite exposed and vulnerable\u201d \u2014 but not for long. \u201cBy the last chorus, [the crowd] was singing the words and I was like, \u2018Well this is great. I feel way less alone by the end.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe song isn\u2019t expected to be on Skye\u2019s debut full-length album. But she hopes it \u201ccan get people excited for the next shift\u201d of her musical career.<\/p>\n

\n\tTrailing behind \u201cBad Taste\u201d on Billboard\u2018s poll this week are ROS\u00c9\u2019s new solo single, \u201cNew Trick,\u201d with 14% of the vote, followed by fresh albums from Miley (Bass Persuades), Carly Rae Jepsen (Day and Night), Riley Green (That\u2019s Just Me) and more.<\/p>\n
