Finally \u2013 drama on The Traitors Ireland (RT\u00c9 One, 9.35pm, Sunday). After a go-slow season in which the Irish edition of the global phenomenon has arguably been the victim of the wider malaise of late onset Traitors fatigue, we are at last treated to genuine tension as the Round Table descends into a ding-dong shouting match. Raised voices, bulging eyeballs, Siobh\u00e1n McSweeney taking it all in with a mischievous smirk. We are so back, people.<\/p>\n
Back, except for Ian, who is voted off after committing the huge error of being quiet through the opening weeks and then unloading on Pete. Temperatures soar, words are exchanged \u2013 and that\u2019s just Ian explaining why he has Pete in his sights.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll you seem to be doing is attacking my character,\u201d he tells Pete. \u201cAt least I make decisions,\u201d comes the retort. <\/p>\n
The consensus is that Ian is too unemotional for a Faithful. \u201cThat\u2019s b****cks,\u201d he replies. \u201cI didn\u2019t even cry at my dad\u2019s funeral.\u201d He doesn\u2019t cry tonight either \u2013 even as he receives his marching orders.<\/p>\n
Amid all this excitement, the actual Traitors, Carla and Pauric, sit back and take it all in. \u201cThey\u2019re doing our jobs for us \u2026 it\u2019s gas,\u201d Pauric says.<\/p>\n
Pauric is so off the radar he could pass for a stealth bomber with a man-bun. That isn\u2019t the case with Carla, who has been tagged as a Traitor by Kayleigh. So why hasn\u2019t Kayleigh voiced her suspicions at the table?<\/p>\n
\u201cI knew not to go for Carla tonight \u2026 knew not to put myself on the chopping block,\u201d she says, after it has been revealed that the Traitors will be bumping off another Faithful after the credits roll.<\/p>\n
So it\u2019s utter chaos then, with the pot stirred further by Pete\u2019s baffling decision to encourage\/command Anna to personally bag \u20ac2,000 during the task segment of the episode. His logic was that she should come away with something for herself, as there was every chance she would be voted off. <\/p>\n
