St Mirren midfielder Killian Phillips has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures following a double injury blow to Heimir Hallgrimsson.<\/p>\n
Jamie McGrath (Hibernian) and Harvey Vale (Queens Park Rangers) have been forced to withdraw from the squad due to injuries sustained while on club duty over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Both players pulled up in the warm-up before games against Aberdeen and Preston North End respectively, putting their participation in doubt.<\/p>\n
Confirmation arrived this morning that they would be unavailable for the international window.<\/p>\n
Phillips will link up with the squad in Dublin today before the traveling party departs for Pristina for the match against Kosovo on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The Boys in Green then travel to Debrecen, Hungary, to face Israel, before returning to Dublin for a home tie against Austria at the Aviva Stadium.<\/p>\n
The window concludes with a second fixture against Israel, set to be played in Ba\u010dka Topola, Serbia.<\/p>\n
