{"id":632129,"date":"2026-09-22T05:16:13","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T05:16:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/632129\/"},"modified":"2026-09-22T05:16:13","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T05:16:13","slug":"conor-mcgregor-eyes-extension-to-produce-an-almost-18000sq-ft-home-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/632129\/","title":{"rendered":"Conor McGregor eyes extension to produce an almost 18,000sq ft home \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">MMA fighter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/conor-mcgregor\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/conor-mcgregor\">Conor McGregor<\/a> has lodged plans for a big extension to his \u20ac3 million home near Straffan, Co Kildare.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Plans lodged with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/kildare\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/kildare\/\">Kildare<\/a> Co Council include a swimming pool, jacuzzi, saunas, gym and treatment room in his basement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The completed house will also include a chef\u2019s kitchen, play room, bar, games room, office, a snug, dining and livingrooms, and a kitchen and pantry on the ground floor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">On the first floor, the plans comprise six bedrooms, including a balcony on either side of the master bedroom, which comes with an adjoining master bathroom and master \u201crobe room\u201d. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The extension is to an existing 1\u00bd storey detached dwelling, forming a two-storey home with basement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Once completed, the floor space would comprise 1,646 sq metres (17,712sq ft).<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Planning permission was previously granted in 2022 regarding an extension for a completed 1,579sq m home, which expires next March.
