The saying ‘I got it from my mama’ rings true for Chloe Ormond, who credits her mother Natara with teaching her everything she knows. <\/p>\n

Chloe is currently living in Ibiza and praises her mum for raising her to be independent but also for teaching her how to be kind.<\/p>\n

To mark last Mother’s Day, Chloe shared a few of her favourite memories and the lessons she’s learnt from Natara with EVOKE. There really isn’t anyone like a mam!<\/p>\n

What is the best piece of advice your mum has given you?<\/p>\n

I think it would be along the lines of, ‘if you want to do something, never give up and keep trying,’ she’s also taught me how to be kind too, and I think that reflects on how I am as a person today.<\/p>\n

What do you most admire about your mum? <\/p>\n

Growing up, my mum was a single mother, so definitely watching her and her strength, and how she’s so independent was inspiring.<\/p>\n

What traits has your mum passed down to you? <\/p>\n

She has made me independent, strong, and [taught me] to not rely on anyone- I’ve been making my own money since I was 15. On a more lighthearted note, her fashion sense- she’s a personal shopper, so she’s taught me everything. Everything that I know is because of her.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your relationship like with your mum? <\/p>\n

We’ve always been best friends, it’s actually funny, the two of us are more like sisters than anything else. We argue like sisters, and sometimes she’s like, ‘Chloe, at the end of the day, I’m your mum,’ but we are the best of friends, and I think as I’ve gotten older, our relationship has just gotten better and better. <\/p>\n

Even though I live in Ibiza, and I do miss her, we speak literally every day. We’re always texting, every day, and when I’m walking home from work, I call her, so we’re always talking.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favourite memory with your mum? <\/p>\n

This is actually hilarious, and it’s only a recent memory but when I was at home in Dublin and we were going to an event, I tend to bring her with me<\/a> to whatever events I can, a man from TikTok who dresses up as a bush and jumps out at people, jumped out at us.<\/p>\n

We were walking through Temple Bar, and he jumped out at us, and got it on video, and it went viral. It was just so funny because he got the two of us, and I always hide in the house and jump out at my mam, so it was funny that he got the two of us- we always laugh about that.<\/p>\n

Do you and your mum have any traditions? <\/p>\n

This is a funny one too. When I was a little girl growing up, my mam always brought me to see Santa in Arnotts, and then as I was getting older, I used to be like, ‘mom, do we actually have to go,’ but she used to make me, so I still to this day go see Santa every year. It’s hilarious, we have the picture of every single year from me as a baby to me now with Arnotts’ Santa.<\/p>\n

If you could describe your mum in three words, what would they be and why?<\/p>\n

God, there are a million words to describe her. I’d say extremely thoughtful, she is always so selfless and puts everyone before herself, and then loving and caring.
