Growing up the daughter of someone who is arguably one of Ireland\u2019s most recognisable faces, Chloe Ormond is a natural in front of the camera. Petite, bubbly and undeniably gorgeous, Chloe is also quite shy, a beautiful blend that enhances her charm.<\/p>\n
In a funny and frank interview, 26-year-old content creator Chloe reflects on what it was really like growing up in the public eye, her unbreakable bond with her mother, and her relationship with her father and step-mother Pippa O\u2019Connor.<\/p>\n
As a youngster, Chloe found herself in the spotlight when she occasionally accompanied her father Brian Ormond to various events, from movie premieres to family Christmas outings.<\/p>\n
It was perhaps from this early age that Chloe discovered fame can often come with downsides.<\/p>\n
For Chloe, having a famous father felt \u2018completely normal\u2019 as a child, though secondary school brought its challenges. \u2018I got slagged a lot, and when you\u2019re young that can be difficult to navigate,\u2019 Chloe told Styled.<\/p>\n
Not prepared to let anyone rain on her parade, Chloe taught herself to tune out the bad stuff.<\/p>\n
Chloe knows she technically fits the \u2018nepo baby\u2019 bracket but firmly rejects the idea she\u2019s traded on her father\u2019s name. \u2018I\u2019ve never been handed opportunities on a plate because of who my dad is,\u2019 she said. <\/p>\n
\u2018Everything I\u2019ve done has required hard work, persistence and plenty of rejection along the way.\u2019 <\/p>\n
On social media specifically, Chloe insisted: \u2018I haven\u2019t relied on shoutouts from my dad or Pippa to build an audience.\u2019 A glance at her social media platforms shows this to be undeniably true.<\/p>\n
\u2018It kind of taught me resilience and helped me develop a thick skin,\u2019 she says matter-of-factly.<\/p>\n
While her step-mother Pippa O\u2019Connor is the nation\u2019s most successful online influencer, for Chloe, her mother is her true inspiration<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018My mum sacrificed so much for me growing up,\u2019 she says with a heartfelt smile. \u2018Even at 26, she\u2019s still the first person I call with good news, or when I need advice.\u2019<\/p>\n But she is also full of praise for Pippa, her father\u2019s partner, though she is keen to carve out her own career quite independently of her family.<\/p>\n \u2018Pippa has built her career through entrepreneurship and business, whereas I\u2019m focused on carving out my own direction,\u2019 says Chloe.<\/p>\n Chloe trained at Dublin\u2019s Billie Barry Stage School, an experience she says provided the building blocks for her current career path.<\/p>\n She has fond memories of being minded by her grandparents while her parents worked, and taking two buses across Dublin with her nana to reach class, describing them as \u2018some of my favourite childhood memories.\u2019<\/p>\n The loss of her grandfather almost three years ago hit her hard, and later inspired a major life change. \u2018For a long time, I struggled with grief,\u2019 she admitted.<\/p>\n It was around this time that Chloe turned to Pilates, which helped her cope. It also proved to be a new career pathway. <\/p>\n \u2018What really stood out was how much better I felt mentally,\u2019 she said, adding that she\u2019s since hosted two sold-out Pilates events of her own.<\/p>\n While Pilates may be her passion, her looks and quick wit make her a bona fide social media star. In fact, such is her allure that Chloe reveals she was approached for Love Island while living in Manchester, and got as far as having her flights booked and a chaperone assigned before pulling out.<\/p>\n However, the deciding factor proved a deal-breaker for the uncompromising Chloe, as producers wanted to hold her back and bring her into the villa as a Casa Amor contestant.<\/p>\n \u2018The idea of going in and trying to turn someone\u2019s head or get involved in an existing couple didn\u2019t feel authentic to who I am,\u2019 she explained.<\/p>\n Despite feeling \u2018overwhelming anxiety\u2019 at the time, she has no regrets. \u2018I believe the universe was telling me to trust my instincts,\u2019 she tells Styled.<\/p>\n At just 20, Chloe moved to Ibiza to work at the famous O Beach Club, later spending six months at its sister venue in Dubai. She admits she \u2018hadn\u2019t a clue how to properly pour a drink\u2019 when she started as a waitress, but says the experience taught her genuine independence. <\/p>\n \u2018It was the first time I was properly living independently, doing my own washing, managing my own finances and figuring things out for myself,\u2019 she says.<\/p>\n Chloe admits online negativity still affects her at times, though she\u2019s developed a thick skin over the years. \u2018My approach is simple: block and ignore,\u2019 she said, adding that \u2018online hate says far more about the person writing it than the person receiving it.\u2019<\/p>\n Looking to the future, she hopes to keep growing her Pilates business, her content and potential television projects, but is adamant that success isn\u2019t everything. <\/p>\n \u2018I\u2019ve realised that happiness is far more important than success itself,\u2019 she said. \u2018If I can look back in five years and say I\u2019ve taken chances, worked hard, stayed true to myself and made great memories along the way, then I\u2019ll consider that a success.\u2019<\/p>\n Style notes<\/p>\n Gym couture<\/p>\n Gone are the days of baggy T-shirts and mismatched leggings.
