Dave Franco is able to “relate” to his Forgotten Island character.<\/p>\n
The 41-year-old actor voices the part of Raww – a well-meaning but hapless were-aspin, a mythical shapeshifter – in Forgotten Island, the new animated comedy film, and Dave can see some similarities between his on-screen character and his real-life self.<\/p>\n
The Hollywood star told E! News: “I think there’s some crossover with who I am in real life.<\/p>\n
“The people that he loves, he loves deeply; he’s a very loyal guy, and you know, deep down, he just wants to be loved. I can relate.”<\/p>\n
Dave also heaped praise on the film’s directors, Joel Crawford and Januel P. Mercado.<\/p>\n
Asked what drew him to the project, Dave explained: “First and foremost, the directors.<\/p>\n
“These are the guys who made Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, an objectively incredible animated movie. And when I first talked to them, they were referencing movies that I loved.<\/p>\n
“They were talking about how Forgotten Island has a similar structure to The Hangover and similar friendship themes to Superbad and other themes to Eternal Sunshine, and so I just immediately knew, like, ‘Oh, I feel like we have similar sensibilities.'”<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Dave is married to fellow movie star Alison Brie, and he previously revealed that they once made love on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland.<\/p>\n
The actor – who has been married to Alison since 2017 – said on the Call Her Daddy podcast: “Something may have happened at one point on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.<\/p>\n
“The f***** up part about that is, I think there’s cameras on every inch of that place, but we were pretty covert. We’ll leave it at that…”<\/p>\n
Dave starred alongside his wife in Together, the 2025 supernatural body horror film, but he actually prefers to keep his personal life out of the spotlight.<\/p>\n
He shared: “I generally am [a private person], which makes doing promo for any movie a little strange because it’s not me in my element.<\/p>\n
“But at the same time, I’ve also gotten much better at this where I recognise this is a big part of my job and I’m just going to lean in and I’m going to do my best and I’m going to be as vulnerable as I can be.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dave Franco is able to “relate” to his Forgotten Island character.
