{"id":633335,"date":"2026-09-23T09:22:16","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T09:22:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/633335\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T09:22:16","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T09:22:16","slug":"lawsuits-allege-ozempic-other-glp-1-medications-may-cause-sudden-vision-loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/633335\/","title":{"rendered":"Lawsuits allege Ozempic, other GLP-1 medications may cause sudden vision loss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SALT LAKE CITY \u2014 There are new questions about a rare eye condition possibly linked to popular GLP-1 drugs that are used for diabetes and weight loss.<\/p>\n<p>Lawsuits allege that GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy and Zepbound may be linked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/books\/NBK559045\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy<\/a>, a rare optic nerve condition that causes sudden vision loss.<\/p>\n<p>One woman taking a GLP-1 for weight loss said she woke up one morning and had lost vision in her right eye.
