\n\tOh, what could\u2019ve been. Ryan Murphy<\/a> revealed what Ariana Grande<\/a>\u2018s role would\u2019ve been if she\u2019d joined the cast of American Horror Story<\/a> season 13 as originally planned.<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking with The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday night in New York City ahead of the premiere of AHS: 13, Murphy revealed that Grande was set to reprise her role as Chanel #2 from Scream Queens<\/a> for the new season of American Horror Story<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe potential crossover would\u2019ve brought the worlds of Murphy\u2019s American Horror Story and Scream Queens together for the first time, but Grande\u2019s touring schedule<\/a> for her Eternal Sunshine Tour ultimately prevented the appearance.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was funny because at one point I was going to have the Scream Queens come on to this season, but Ariana was touring and I couldn\u2019t make it work,\u201d Murphy told THR. \u201cBut she was like, \u2018I still want to do it! I just can\u2019t be on tour.\u2019 So I was like, \u2018All right, let me think of it.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGrande played Chanel #2 on Scream Queens, the Fox horror-comedy co-created by Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. The series starred Emma Roberts as Chanel #1, Grande as Chanel #2, Billie Lourd as Chanel #3, Abigail Breslin as Chanel #5 and Lea Michele, a group of Kappa Kappa Tau sorority sisters targeted by a killer known as the Red Devil.<\/p>\n

\n\tGrande\u2019s character was killed off in the first season, and the series was canceled after two seasons.
Murphy said that while Grande\u2019s touring schedule kept the crossover from happening this season, he hasn\u2019t given up on revisiting Scream Queens \u2014 and the show\u2019s core cast members are interested in returning.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked if he was thinking about reviving Scream Queens, following his recent comments<\/a> about being open to revisiting Glee, Murphy said, \u201cYes, so funny, Emma [Roberts] and I were talking about that yesterday. You know, they want me to do it. I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cEmma really wants to do it. I know Billie wants to do it. Lea wants to do it. Ariana wants to do it and Glen [Powell], my favorite of all time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tMurphy also pointed to Grande\u2019s touring schedule as the reason the Scream Queens crossover didn\u2019t happen this season.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI mean, it\u2019s been what, 12 years since Glee went off the air? Sometimes it takes a while,\u201d Murphy added. \u201cBut it was the tour which I knew. She warned me in advance that it was gonna be really hard to schedule, and the weekend we had to shoot it, she was touring, but I said, \u2018OK, I\u2019ll bump it down the road,\u2019 so I haven\u2019t given up. I love her.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLourd, who played Chanel #3 on Scream Queens, also told THR Wednesday that she would be interested in returning to the series.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHell yeah! Scream Queens is everything,\u201d she said when asked about the possibility of a revival.
\u201cI wish Scream Queens would come back. It was so much fun. That was the first Ryan thing I ever did. It\u2019d be wild,\u201d she added. \u201cChanel #3 is everything to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBrennan previously told THR<\/a> that he would \u201ctotally\u201d revisit the series and reflected on its premature ending.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was really at the end of network [television] and the rise of streaming,\u201d he said. \u201cA network executive could have been forgiven for being like, \u2018The ratings keep going down.\u2019 But they would do this all the time. They\u2019d cancel a show that was getting like a one and then replace it with something that got a point seven, and now they would give their eyeteeth for the ratings we were getting then.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for Murphy\u2019s latest show, the highly anticipated 13th season of American Horror Story premieres Thursday on FX<\/a>. The \u201call-star\u201d season will see franchise favorites Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett and more reprise their iconic characters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Oh, what could\u2019ve been.
