{"id":634429,"date":"2026-09-24T10:26:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-24T10:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/634429\/"},"modified":"2026-09-24T10:26:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-24T10:26:15","slug":"two-year-ban-for-motorist-who-had-no-licence-or-insurance-in-letterkenny","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/634429\/","title":{"rendered":"Two-year ban for motorist who had no licence or insurance in Letterkenny"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man has been hit with a two-year driving ban after being caught with no insurance and no licence in Letterkenny.<\/p>\n<p>Luiz Felipe Zacarias Leal has been put off the road and also fined a total of \u20ac600 after his case was before Letterkenny District Court.<\/p>\n<p>The 26-year-old, of Rann Mor Meadow, Letterkenny, was charged with offences after being stopped on January 30, 2026 at High Road Letterkenny.<\/p>\n<p>Garda Stephen Joseph Carroll of the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit gave evidence of stopping a Toyota Aygo at 11.48am.<\/p>\n<p>The automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) flagged the car as being uninsured.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Leal had no documents present when initially spoken to by Gardai. He then elected to produce at Letterkenny Garda Station, but did not do so.<\/p>\n<p>He was charged with driving without insurance, driving without a license as well as failing to produce insurance and failing to produce a licence.
